This service is an absolute disgrace, it can be and frequently is 20 minutes late, even from Consett to Leadgate, it is high time the franchise was taken away from simly go northeast and someone more reliable given the route. people get onto a double decker bus, the seats are damp, its like sitting in a fridge, O.A.P on sticks have to negotiate a flight of stairs to get to the top deck (no seats available down stairs) Edmond Hillary would,nt attempt. The next thing to happen will be a... (read more)

The livery change on service 20 is not customer friendly. The large bishop's mitre stuck onto the rear of each side actually black's out the two rear windows on each side. This is particularly inconvenient when watching out for reference points for the stop you want, particularly when it's dark. From the outside it is not an improvement on the old livery and in my opinion makes the bus look ugly. Please make it possible to see out of those rear windows. over the last several months we have been travelling on public transport from windy nook area to gateshead/ newcastle, we have been supporting adults whom have a learning disability and are a wheelchair users, we have continually been refused to access on to several buses due to the pushchairs, every vehicle has a space for a wheelchair user however these are filled by pushchairs, very rarley does the driver ask for the pushchair to be removed from the wheelchair bay, this is very... This is one of the most pathetic third rate third world bus "services" I have ever encountered! They promise to respond to your complaint within 5 days, I complained about the lousy attitude of one of their drivers (I asked for information, got ignored, asked again and got grunted at!) I heard nothing..I emailed them again, eventually a full three weeks later I got a standard scripted response back-and nothing else!
From 29th May I will have to walk 10 (!) miles (5 each way) to the city to...

The service between Consett and Durham I have found to be highly reliable. On the one occassion it was not, causing me to miss a train connection, the customer services were very helpful in resolving my issue.
Although I think the tickets could be cheaper, I realise that a half-hourly run service that is for many parts of the day transporting hardly any passengers (and if they are pensioners they dont pay a penny) I can understand the need to subsidise the loss making services.

Since the no1 and no2 buses rerouted thro marden estate the service has become disgusting.Buses are regularly missing or two come together. The old service with the 75/76 and 85/86 was very good, whoever changed the timetables and routes should at least be disciplined for incompetance. The drivers themselves know the service is poor but it,s obvious they were not asked for an opinion.Once again the chiefs drop the indians in it. During Snowy weather this week, Go North East still managed to run almost every single bus service. Furthermore they provided updates via facebook and twitter at a level I have not seen from any other service. During normal conditions Go North East provide a good and relatively punctual service and provide services between nearly all of the destinations I have wanted to travel between (in the local area). So overall in my experience they are a very good company. (read more)

The Go North East Buses that run between Newcastle and Durham have a boast written on the side that this company can not live up to,they claim to run every 7-8 minutes but most evenings I end up waiting around 15-20 minutes. I score them 0 for reliability, full mmarks for cleanliness and although I gave one point for value for money I take that back, how can a service that fails to turn up on time and that guarantees that you will have a late arrival at your destination be considered value... My grandson had been to the Seaburn beach all Sunday with his friends and spent all of his money but kept sufficient for his bus fares.
He got the bus from the beach to Sunderland town centre, parted from his friends and attempted to get on the Go Ahead Northern Durham bus to return home at East Herrington.
He is 14 years old but did not have his pass to confirm this. The bus driver demanded £1.60 adult fare but he had only £1.10. He was not allowed on the bus. He walked home...

On certain parts of the network the quality of service declines [talking about northumberland] But services are being taken over by arriva in that area. on my bus service [the 58] drivers are almost always very friendly. Buses are often modern, mainly under 3 years old, so many journeys of mine are smooth and comfy. Fares are quite high and £3.80 for a 1 zone ticket could be reduced. I have had few bad experiences, however certain vital services have been withdrawn. One Service, the 316,... (read more)

Go Northeast is the worst bus company I have ever used. Buses are constantly late and are not frequent enough to assist people that work outside Consett or in Newcastle. In times of snow or peak traffic the service is dissapointing. Not only were customers left guessing which bus stops to use during snow, as there were no signs put up on bus stops informing travellers which stops are being used and which not, but also other bus drivers passing by from the same company would not inform people... i have to make a comment to this service, you have stopped a very good and reliable service number 9 bus and 9A to jarrow sunderland and north shields, this service was very reliable in getting me to work and back, due to me livimg in the north east and i work over the south tyneside, whos brilliant idea was this, i don,t no how many more people have been affected of these changes, your asking customers to use public transport more and yet you make it so difficult for people to get back and... Go-North East are part of the Go-Ahead group. They operate an extensive network of bus services in the North East of England. In my experience they are generally a good bus operator. They operate most services on a commercial basis and do sometimes try to merge routes that are not viable and continue to provide a service to the majority of passengers. This sometimes involves removing certain stops to make the overall journey faster.
Having said this they are a good bus operator that provide an...
