Manesty Holiday Cottages is a lovely peaceful place to relax. It's central to all the attractions of the Lake District, but you could just hang around the immediate area as it's so pretty. Manesty is slightly off the beaten track, on a minor road, so you don't get that overcrowded feeling of some bits of the Lakes (although you are only 15 minutes from Keswick). The owners provide a set of 10 self guided walks from the cottage - no need to get in the car. A real country retreat. (read more)
