The Nokia 5210 is a great mobile phone. I've had it for 4 years, and I've dropped it, sat on it, and even accidentally dropped it out of the window of a moving car going 60, and it hasn't been damaged (except cosmetic damage to the case).
It took 4 years for anything to go wrong, and now it turns itself off on its own sometimes, but who has a phone for 4 years nowadays? (read more)

Where do I start, the Nokia 5210 is the worst phone I have had in my possession, at first when I got it, it used to be fine. But after it would repeatidly crash when I try send text messages or try going into games which is pretty much the best feature the phone has. It also crashes when trying to use wap features and turns off. Within the last week it would send battery low signals when the battery is fully charged. The phone is not damaged shell wise at all hardly droped with force yet... (read more)

I had a Nokia 5210 phone for 3 months in that time, I couldn't write text messages, I had a buzzing noise on it and it keep turning itself off. I also sent it to be repaired twice only for it to come back the same as it went, I'd never buy one again. (read more)

Overall, i like this Nokia 5210 mobile phone as it is ideal for my lifestyle as i like to participate in sports and if i drop my phone it is unlikely to damage it. I can download good music ringtones however i will be looking to upgrade soon as this phone is now quite big compared to new ones around. (read more)

Had this Nokia 5210 mobile phone for 18 months and it has been brilliant.
My wife has a Nokia phone and has a better signal than the 5210, but it has never caused me that many probs.
Dropped it down the toilet (it was clean) just before christmas, and the little begger still works fine! It is starting to look a bit beaten up now, my job isn't sitting in an office or company car all day, But it still functions ok.

Dont you think this Nokia 5210 phone is the nicest ever? I look at this phone and think to myself that this is the king of all phones first thing the ruggedness of this phone is outstanding and the coolness is off the chart. You can aquire soo many colour cases for this to suit your style and if you are clumsy dont worry1 This is the phone for you.
The only thing I would say is wrong with this phone is that it is not colour, if it was color it would be the jesus of all phones! (read more)

This is a mobile phone and it works. It doesn't go wrong, it's battery lasts for ages, you can drop it, sit on it, spill beer on it and it still works. Excellent reception and clarity. The screen doesn't blur when it's running too many colours because its just good old black and white.
I've just gone back to this phone from a polyphonic colour clam-shell which was too fiddly, too short battery life and got to be a pain in the butt once the novelty wore off. If you want to make phone calls:... (read more)

I have had this Nokia 5210 phone for almost 2 years and it has served me good. there is a slight problem with the shell now though, but this is very good cause im really clumsy with my phone and have dropped it quite a few times. the size of the phone is quite big but im getting a nokia 7650 so its smaller than that and although all the bad points this phone is durable and will last for a long time if not mistreated alot. When I first got this phone it was ace! I'm a very clumsy person and the shells are awesome because after about 2 weeks of having it I'd already broken the shell screen. Simply just get a new cover right? Wrong, these are the most impossilbe original covers to get. I brought a cheap one but the cheap fact certainly came back to haunt me. As for the waterproofness, I'll be testing that when I get my new phone.

The 5210 is the first Nokia Mobile phone I've had, after always choosing Alcatel models in the past. The main reason I wanted this model is the fact that it claims to be virtually indestructable.
I find most other models I have had seem to show thair age very quickly, mainly due to general wear from being carried in a pocket with money or keys etc., but the rubber case on this model is much more robust, and in any case can be replaced if it does start to look worn.
The ringtones on this... (read more)

I've had this Nokia 5210 phone for a year now and although i did wear out one of the buttons at first (far too much space impact!) which needed a replacement i've had no problems with it. I found the vibrate very strong which is useful in very loud environments, particulally as the ringing volume is not very loud. (although the strong vibrate can be somewhat embarrasing in quiet surroundings!) I have dropped it a vertical distance of over 20ft onto a hard wooden floor and it survived! this... (read more)

Shockproof shells are rubbish, when I splashed a small amount of water over the phone, some water actually got inside. When you drop the phone the casing comes apart occasionally. The thermometer is always wrong. It always says 30c in a normal room temperature environment which is normally 19-20c. The battery life is horrific, I only got 1 1/2 days out of it (Constant use - I talk a lot), The reception on the phone is rubbish, (1 Bar or less). I live in an area where coverage is good and... This Nokia 5210 is really good. However, the vibrate function doesn't work properly any more, which is really annoying. Another point, which could be a bad one, but I find funny, is that when you go to menu>profiles>general>personalise>message alert tone> and select personal, when you go to names>caller groups>and select one you get a language menu. HA! I don't care about this though. (read more)

A mobile newcomer's first impressions:
I like the dinky looks and feel of the blue version very much. It feels good in the hand because it has good ergonomics with the shape and quasi-rubber, and good balance of the weight unlike the 3510. I don't mind that the buttons are clicky since that is the price you pay for the robust versatility of the phone.
Compared to the 3510 though, the sound is a little tinnier or scratchy in the way those simple metallic earplugs are. You know, the really... (read more)

The nokia 5210 has a major software bug. If you go to profiles->general->personalise-> message alert tone->personal and you select a ring tone, then you 'll get a language menu when you go to names->caller groups and select one of the caller groups. Instead of group name, ... you 'll get a language menu. There are more of these software bugs, so i recommend that you don't buy this phone. (read more)

The Nokia 5210 mobile phone is garbage - it is for clumsy idiots.
The only reason to buy for is being a bit more resistant to shocks than others.
Rest is same with every others.
Thermometer is a mean marketing trick from Nokia. It is definitely useless, I tried two 5210 phones. I regret to buy this phone. Should have bought a second hand 6310 which would be a great phone. I went for the thermometer and got backstabbed... The dealer refuses to change the phone also.

I was on my third Nokia 5210 mobile phone in 12 months. I like to have a good phone but if I buy the best, I will lose a lot of money when it inevitably breaks in the near future. So I buy mid range phones generally, 3310, 3330, 3330. These never lasted more than 4 months. I am a clumsy person and my phone gets dropped often. I've had a 5210 for about 6 months now. It has a decent range of features and in general it works fine. But I have noticed a glitch in the reception. Occasionally (about once per day)the phone appears to lose reception even though there is a good signal. The phone cannot be rang as it thinks it is out of coverage. If I make a call from the phone, however, it picks up coverage straight away. This only happens when the phone has been idle. (read more)

I recently replaced my 'old' Nokia 3310 for this phone. It had provided very good service over 18 months, and had converted me to the Nokia brand after owning many different phone models in the past. What swung the decision for me to buy the 5210 was this models practicality. It is quite unique in it's sector of the market as it is dust and water resistant (splash proof) and shock proof. The Nokia 5210 mobile phone is basically an 8210 with a sturdier physique.
The keypad security code is a big plus. It prevents others from using it without your consent and get this: if ever you misplace your phone and another person tries to use it, he'd have to punch in the code (it has to be keypad locked). If he turns it off, he'd have to input a pin code. If he changes sims, another security code. Great anti-use, huh? Reception wise, it doesn't matter - as with every nokia phone a call... (read more)
