I have had a Burtons card for over 20 years. Having Problems with not been able get on my accounts manager online, called them and told them this, they informed me that my account is closed due to not using my card enough! I do buy with cash too! I now have to go into Store and reapply for a new card! I also will not have the amount of credit that I previously had with my card and I have to start again? Is it worth doing this again? Why can you not apply on line for the card? You have to go into store, get with the times Burtons everything is done on line. I do not understand why they can not re activate the account? In the long run this affects all Burton Group, Dorothy Perkins, Evens, Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge Wallis and outfit. So another UNHAPPY Loyal customer leaving. It is not worth the paper its written on.

I've had my card for a number of years with no problems. Newday take over and then I receive a letter informing me of a £12 late payment fee. I checked my bank account and the payment had gone through. I called to speak to someone and when I eventually got through, 20 mins later, I was told it was their error and that my account had been refunded. I was told it was a system error. I got a letter regarding the late fee but nothing to apologise for their error. I can't help but feel scammed after spending 20 mins on the phone at 5p per minute. I now intend to pay the card off and never go near them or the stores that they represent ever again.

i've had a burtons card for 30+ years and was quite happy. The newday people take over and with months the account is closed! the excuse, they are not doing any of the arcadia store cards anymore i wonder how many months i will have to wait for the credit to be returned to me (i shall not hold my breath for a speedy return of my cash)

I took out a card when I purchased some shorts, which I subsequently took back. However Burtons computer system is so badly designed that as someone else took out a card at the same time as me, we were allocated the exact same card number and as a result I was charged for the other person's purchase - interest included. After 3 phone calls I'm hoping it'll be sorted out (have been assured it will, but was assured last time...) but - beware, you pay for the phone calls and they're not quick. The computer systems must be either slow or difficult to use as the customer advisors (though obviously intelligent, and english) take a long time to find details and work out what's gone wrong. I've probably paid more in phone calls than they tried to incorrectly charge me in interest, but this is not going to be refunded. DON'T TAKE OUT THIS STORE CARD - it will cost you money and time.

Everything seemed great, I get a £10 voucher for signing up. Wanted to pay the amount on my card off straight away, called a number which I found only through google! It took me to some indian call centre, I couldn't understand a thing any of them said. In the end I hung up; I was never going to give them my card details! And i've just been put off Burtons, topman etc for life. Not going to spend my money in a store in this country who's employees don't speak English. I wish I was informed I needed to speak Punjabi in order to pay the money back.

Burton store card is such a ripe off !!! I suggest everyone not to get any store cards , its difficult to make payments to the card and i ended up getting charged £25 extra for £7 late payment ! What a stupid card ! And santander is terrible !!

I would not recommend them to anyone. You can pay off your card in full and if they do not receive it within the alloted time they charge you a late payment fee and also interest so beware.

The major downside is its the difficulty making payments, there's nothing on the burtons website and to get the correct number I had to scour google and yahoo once I had the number the automated payment system is appauling! stutters, cuts out often so you have no idea what's happening and very long pauses making you wonder if the line has gone dead.
Overall very unhappy it's put me right off burtons

Poor service on getting the Burtons store card, sent from number to number to try and pay off a bill and in the end i got bored of the constant transfers and hung up.
Currently owing a few hundred pounds and not paying as i don't have a number to contact to actually make a payment so they ain't getting any money.
Poor customer service on phones all i got was wrong number ill transfer - 30 minutes of transfers and holding.

You can go into any Burton Store and pay off your card.
Im sure the Sales advisors in the store will be more than happy to help you with paying off your card.
I know this as I work in a Burton Store - we don't all have bad service!!
