I've got a lot of experience with air rifles, and in .177 and .22 calibres as well, for both hunting and Hunter Field Target shooting. I've had the Weihrauch HW100K S in .177 a few days now and i'm very pleased with it.

Accuracy isn't an issue - i'm using .177 Bisley Magnums and getting 14 shot groups of 1cm across from the prone unsupported position at 20 meters. I reckon that a tighter pellet head size (4.52 v current 4.51) might even tighten that group up even further - plus i'm not the best shot in the world! Hunting accuracy is top class with pellet placing on the local bunny population being exceptionally easy. Head shots are easy - although the optic on top of the rifle plays its part here obviously.

The rifle is a dream to handle being short and nicely balanced. The stock is comfortable too, with indents in all the right places - it fits me very well. Because of this balance and attention to ergonomic detail, it is easy to bring to the aim, and very easy to lug around the countryside even without a sling. The K also means that it doesn't get caught half as much as a full length rifle in bushes/trees/fences on your hunt either. It can also be used from inside a vehicle with ease if that's your thing.

The magazine system is the best I have used being well engineered and supremely easy to operate. On some manufacturers systems you can feel resistance as the pellet comes from the mag into the barrel - not so on this rifle, the action is silky smooth. This gives me confidence that the pellet is in good ballistic shape in the chamber without any damage to the pellet head on being fed into the barrel; hence the consistent accuracy!

Shot count on the K is a relatively low 44 on my rifle (Weihrauch say 50 shots) which given the cylinder size of 105 cc isn't too bad. This is enough for hunting with, and I'd recommend a divers bottle or you'll kill yourself pumping it up each time you use it. The air cylinder is changeble with an aftermarket one to make the weapon even lighter (the whole rifle without an optic weighs 3.1 Kg currently)

The weapon is exceptionally quiet given the quality of the sound suppressor supplied with the gun. More noise comes from the trigger action than the shot release itself! The downside is that bunny will still hear the shot impact on the target - nothing technological exists yet that will suppress the sound of lead hitting your target. At least you're less likely to give your firing point location away to the bunnies.

Value for money is one of those areas that is a personal thing. I'd say it represents value for money in that whilst expensive, it is one of the top names out there. In this case, paying the cash for the name is justified and backed up with performance to set it apart from the rest. Highly recommended. Best carbine I have used in a long time - I still use that old favourite - the Mk2 Superten in .22 for a lot of my hunting; that's just changed!

i bought my weirauch hw100k 3 days ago, it took 30 shots at 40 yards to set up, you get a instant classic from purchase with the weirauch renowned barrel its so accurate and powerful my 11 year old cousin can shoot coke cans with it at 50 yards whilst standing. so weight isn't a problem, very fast to reload so if you just say miss a shot and your quarry is still sitting you can get another shot off within 5 seconds easily

The hw100k is quite an expensive piece of kit.i paid £700 for mine but if you look around you may get one for about £30 cheaper.despite being expensive it probably is worth it especially for hunting(it so quiet).you get 2 magazines with the gun, thats 28 shots, more than enough for hunting.(the magazines can sometimes be a bit tricky to insert into the action, you need to rotate them a bit for them to find their place)
i`ve only had the gun for about one month.i went for 177 this ti ...

Fantastic little gun. Weihrauch HW 100 Carbine thumbhole stock. (HW 100 KT) I bought it new 16 months ago in .22 calibre and mounted an AGS 3x9x40 scope onto it. There's a whole lotta rabbits less around my garden and surrounding area now! I also own a tuned up HW 80 and the HW100 seems feeble compared to that. However with the correct stalking tactics and thanks to the HW's whisper quiet muzzle report you'll soon be mowing down the bunnies. Easy to load the magazine and cock plus a delight to h ...

Heavy pellets are a must. Fairly powerful, smooth action, good looking-(carbine) but without a scope the Weihrauch HW100K is not very accurate without a scope
