Good Points: Quick heating ...smoothing and no static

Bad Points: Temperature dial and on/off switch in awkward place

General comments: I love these. as good as ghds. if not better. i had them for 3 years and had no problems except i left them on one night recently and went out. They melted and smoked the house out. My son rescued them/my house........i ordered another pair the next day (fri) and they came on tues morning free post. excellent service. i wouldnt be without. My friends daughter had used ghds and was about to buy some. i told her to try mine out first. She preferred them and is going to order some for herself....

Over all I realy love the Salon Creative Pro Tourmaline Medium Mark 5.2. Saw on reviews that people have said that they are packing up early and I have had mine a few months and so far no problems. They do what thay say and until I try the brilliant GHD's I can only say I am happy with what i got.

Salon Creative Pro Tourmaline Medium Mark 5.2 are pretty good straighteners when they work. However, I received them as a Christmas present in 2005 and since then they have broken 3 times. I think its the fuse which goes and then they just don't turn on or heat up. The company was good in the first year replacing the ones which has broken but after a year of me owning a pair which then broke again they would not replace them even though I had only owned the current pair about 2 months. I think that these straightners are exactly the same as GHD, they look exactly the same and better still they straighten my hair just as it's done in a salon. Better still they are under £40 ! Absolutely Fab !

After reading the good reviews on this product, I ordered a pair of SCP's. Firstly, the straighteners arrived 2 weeks late, and when the company was contacted, I received no reply! After eventually trying out the straighteners, I found they were just as bad as SCP's service. They took a long time to heat up, and they barely straightened my hair. I've tried returning them, but I get no answer from the company, despite them saying there is a 'no quibble' guarantee!!
