I placed an international order about 2 weeks ago. Since it still hasn't arrived, I got in contact with the courier to find out where the parcel was. They told me they'd never received the parcel from Blacks at all, just got instructions to print out the postage label. So I contacted the customer service number, took me about 4 calls to even get connected (kept getting cut off) and then once I did get through I was on hold for ages. “Admitting to no processes in place!!”

I bought a pair of shoes from Blacks that got heavily damaged within 3 months of purchase under normal conditions. I was encouraged by a Blacks manager to send them back and they would be assessed and a refund given to me. A month later I contacted their department and was told that nothing was wrong with the shoes. Spent hours trekking around branches after checking they had the item I wanted in stock. Turned out nobody did, in reality. I bought a Berghaus 3 in 1 jacket with fleece from Blacks Leisure in Leeds for £190. Everything was fine until my wife washed the fleece & it shrunk so much I have not been able wear it since. I took the fleece back to Blacks Leisure in sheffield who then sent it off to their head office ( JD Sports PLC ) for checking. “Don't gamble with this company”

Bought a berghaus jacket which had a intermittent fault with the zip. Took back to the shop who pulled and yanked at the zip but the fault wouldn't happen, was told that I couldn't have a refund. Rang customer services who told me I could have an exchange if I sent the jacket back. Sent it back and after waiting 11 days with no correspondence have been told that I'm getting the same jacket back after no fault was found. AMAZING!!!! I ordered a North Face coat on 1 December 2013 for next day delivery after being told that I could not get the same discount in store even though I had the coat in my hand in store. I later the same day received an email to say that the coat had been despatched and would be delivered on 2 December. I bought a £90 pair of boots, that lost their colour in 3 weeks of wearing. It turned out that I could NOT return the boots unless I had the original slip from the box in which the boots arrived. Email order and dispatch confirmations are not acceptable. Very similar story to others on this site. I bought a pair of Black's own brand walking boots, discounted but original price £75. After about 4 months of occasional weekend use the sole started to come away from both boots, plus stitching was coming away in several places. I ordered a fleece on-line with them which never arrived. Took 30 minutes to get through to their customer services (at 10p a minute) who informed me they had cancelled the order due to no stock. “Customer service I don't think so”

In July I bought some expensive footwear from the Leicester store, after a few weeks use the sole started to come away from the shoe. Unfortunately I paid for the goods in cash and had lost the receipt, as a regular customer to Blacks I thought they would show some goodwill and comply with the sale of goods legislation and replace the faulty goods. This is quite simply the worst company I have ever dealt with. We bought a tent that leaked. After 3 months of contacting customer services who told us 3 different things we finally sent the tent back by courier provided by Blacks/Millets. Their management team was useless in dealing with the problem and I had to contact the manufacturer directly who almost imediately agreed a replacement with Blacks when they looked at the photos that I sent to them. “Absolutely appalled!! ”

Absolutely appalled!!

Apparently my card failed security checks, rang up customer services who told me it was because hey had no stock of on item. Changed the colour, still same error. Rang my card supplier who said there were not problems.
Offer ran out so Blacks wouldnt help.
Spoke to Nick Farrell ( Head of Customer Services) who is no help whatsoever, extremely rude and is working in the wrong job.
Emailed E Commerce director is hasnt responded yet.

Blacks usually have some very good sale items at great prices and I was tempted to buy a number of things recently. I have previously shopped there and would say the layout of the stores is a little confusing but the quality of goods is usually good. However, I would now say DO NOT USE them!
