After several days of being passed between Blacks & Citylink about a missing order, I was about to write scathing review. On hold for 9-11 minutes (3 calls), no refund allowed, no 2nd despatch allowed, no managers to speak to, I must wait for missing parcel form etc.... As a final attempt to resolve I guessed the email for their MD and hey presto literally within 15 minutes I get a refund to my PayPal account. I ordered a fleece on-line with them which never arrived. Took 30 minutes to get through to their customer services (at 10p a minute) who informed me they had cancelled the order due to no stock. Not only had they not told me of this, they had not refunded the money either. I guess there is a reason Blacks are in such a financial mess. I will never order from them again. (read more)

In July I bought some expensive footwear from the Leicester store, after a few weeks use the sole started to come away from the shoe. Unfortunately I paid for the goods in cash and had lost the receipt, as a regular customer to Blacks I thought they would show some goodwill and comply with the sale of goods legislation and replace the faulty goods. This is quite simply the worst company I have ever dealt with. We bought a tent that leaked. After 3 months of contacting customer services who told us 3 different things we finally sent the tent back by courier provided by Blacks/Millets. Fault would be verified and either a replacement or refund would be issued within 3 weeks. After 6 weeks I contacted them via email. After 7 I tried again. I then telephoned on Friday. We ordered last night at 8.25pm. It said next day delivery up to 9, we were a bit unsure but thought would give it a go. it wasn't here by 12 so my partner rung to check. He also wanted to ask about the price guarantee as he had seen it cheaper after buying. They matched the price, which was very good of them, and also said it would be here before 6 today. bought some north face e-tip gloves that developed a fault in 4 months. was advised by store to return them for a replacement or refund which i did bringing proof of purchase. Once id paid for parking etc, i returned to Blacks to be told that they would not replace them and this was not company policy. I was told by both customer services and the store that as the product was more than 90 days old, they would bot replace, despite being showed the current sale of goods legislation in store!... Ordered trousers and fleece, got a cambelbak instead. Customer services refused to send correct items while I wait for a further letter from them with return/refund instructions. This means I will not have the items on time before my holiday, when I need them UNLESS I place another order, customer service tells me. (read more)

i contacted Blacks three months ago with a faulty shoes that I purchased at one of their stores. Their management team was useless in dealing with the problem and I had to contact the manufacturer directly who almost imediately agreed a replacement with Blacks when they looked at the photos that I sent to them. Apparently my card failed security checks, rang up customer services who told me it was because hey had no stock of on item. Changed the colour, still same error. Rang my card supplier who said there were not problems.
Offer ran out so Blacks wouldnt help.
Spoke to Nick Farrell ( Head of Customer Services) who is no help whatsoever, extremely rude and is working in the wrong job.
Emailed E Commerce director is hasnt responded yet.

It was best deal in the market at the time, but it has been delayed. I ordered stuff with Next day delivery service, nobody bodered to tell me it wont be next day. I phoned up customer service, lady on other end apologised and offered to cancel Next day delivery charge, but it has never happened. Customer service is only open until afternoon, nobody replies on Your online questions.

Blacks usually have some very good sale items at great prices and I was tempted to buy a number of things recently. I have previously shopped there and would say the layout of the stores is a little confusing but the quality of goods is usually good. However, I would now say DO NOT USE them! I had to return a jacket which has a faulty zip and they refuse to refund my money (the jacket is only 14 days old). I pointed out this was against my consumer rights and was directed to ring the...
