My new Pearl VMX (Rock) set is the best that I have ever played. Excellent sound, solid and forgiving construction; this is as good as it gets! Complemented with an additional 14" floor tom, Pearl 2000-series hardware, and Sabian HHX cymbals, I have attained nirvana.

this set is a GREAT set to play on. every show that i play, the sound guys make me do a 3 minute drum check because this kit has the best sound ive heard in a while. im looking to get a SJC Custom but i'll always love my pearl. its the best set ive played on so far. check out my band and maybe i'll see you at a show.. myspace.com/getuptexas and if you dont have this set.. The Pearl Vision drum kit is extremely versatile, sounding good on pretty much any style of music. It is a fantastic value for the money, with the different models ranging from $600-$1100. Aside from the great sound you can get out of this kit, it is also very durable, and can handle being gigged with. Overall, this is a wonderful kit that I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a quality drum set without spending too much money, (read more)

Despite the obvious weight difference my Pearl Vision Series is my preferred kit and will use this one more often. Whether for rehearsals or for small to medium dance gigs. Good projection. Miking not necessary.
When I did my research, I found the Pearl kit is best value in quality and features. And I still feel that way. The clarity of tones is excellent. Easy to dial in how much resonance and punch you want. Overtones are much easier to control as well, than my other kit, as latest version...

I got the 5 piece Pearl Vision Series drum set for $519.99 at Guitar Center...(big sale weekend with $100 instant rebate). I looked at, played, & compared to all other manufacturers comparable sets - (Yamaha stage / Tama superstar / DWpacific / Mapex mars etc.) - I feel the Pearl Vision Series has "bang for the buck", at least more of what I want in a drum kit.
