    Good Points: Yamaha are onto a winner with the new birch shells .The lacquered body adds quality to an awesome sounding kit. The 22 base drum has power and depth and I have compared to a Yamaha maple custom and there is no comparison on loudness although the maple which is twice the expense has a warmer sound. Hardware is sheer quality and the birch snare has a rapid response.


    General comments: Having used Yamaha Stage Custom kit in the studio and live gigs, I feel confident in stating that this kit for the price will give you the same confidence as playing the Yamaha 9000.Having used Pearl and Ludwig kits previously I have found myself at home with Yamaha even the hardware is solid and dependable. There is no doubt that Yamaha know a thing or two about drums and for the expense you are getting a really good quality kit that will save you money rather than buying a more expensive DW or TAMA kit.

    I really like Yamaha Stage Custom. Sound is really good, for the price which I paid for them.

    The Yamaha Stage Custom has a great bass drum sound, YESS system infinitely adjustable, neat lugs, nice finish. Absolutely brilliant entry level semi-pro kit.

    Yamaha continue to amaze with this kit. Whatever it is, if it's Yamaha, it's bound to be good. The kit sounds great with Sabian b8 cymbals and Evans g2 double ply, coated heads. It's ideal for anyone who gigs regularly and could easily hold it's ground against more professional models. Top kit!

    Very good quality as an entry level gigging kit. Upgrade snare and some hardware and the package is excellent.

    Yamaha Stage Custom is a very good sounding drum kit, great for gigs, very well made, using good quality wood.
