Security guards totally ignorant followed me and stood right next to me, totally ignorant. I spend a lot of money in this store, maybe I should have just emptied my purse for him. I shop regularly at House of Fraser and have been very disappointed with the online shopping service, I ordered some items online at the end of November for a Christmas present, after finding these items weren't suitable for my partner I returned the items on the 27th Dec, only to sent a e-voucher 10 days later. I'm organised and Christmas shop early but little did I realise that when I was purchasing mid October a £70 purse for my daughter for Xmas that we would be stuck with it!! I told the assistant at the time that it was an Xmas gift n I wasn't sure of the colour but she said nothing,just issued me with the gift receipt! If she had I wouldn't have bought it! “Refund policy over Xmas Period”

I bought my son a high end branded T shirt on 12 Dec from HoF, and gave to him as part of his Xmas gifts on Xmas Day. He tried it on 28 Dec, bit it was a small fit (XXL, the largest the brand does, which fitted my husband who is a standard medium!). I looked at the receipt, it only gave 14 days for a refund, the last day being 26 Dec! They don't agree to leave the parcel in a safe place and I kept getting cards saying: Not home again. Can't take a day off to wait for post, still haven't received my item. I purchased over £1200 of duvets and bedlinen on a Saturday afternoon and paid extra for a delivery Sunday 6-10pm by UK Mail. I received a text from an entirely different carrier to inform me the items would be delivered on Monday, when I am at work! ordered a top at a reduced price but was charged full price. Rang customer services who told me they reserved the right to charge the price at checkout, regardless of what the online sale price said. Looked again at the site and almost everything is marked at a sale price that doesn't exist and draws you in. Shameful behaviour for such a big store. Poor customer service, scripted almost automated email responses. The HoF international delivery policy is a disgrace. They are effectively charging their international customers more (the difference is exactly the same as VAT) so essentially they get to keep the extra profit while their customers like me are required to pay "tax" twice - the UK VAT (which is their profit) and tax in their home country. If you order online you are given only a set period to return your purchase or you will get a credit rather than a refund. If you then use your credit to make a furthe purchase and pay even a small amount by card, any returns you make will be by evoucher! “Refunds are pitiably slow”

I would advise anyone not to shop with HOF online, especially if they have to return goods and then wait for a refund. I sent for two garments online that did not fit, returned them the same day and then had to wait a fortnight before the money was refunded. This was despite the fact that I repeatedly sent e-mails asking where my money was. The answer was always that it could take some time for the goods to be 'processed' and the money repaid. “RIP OFF MERCHANTS - Terrible does not describe the service”

I purchased a coat from HOF at a cost of £179.00 and did not like it and returned it, surprised I received an evoucher rather than a refund but HOF said I had not returned it with in 14 days - OK, not happy but I except this.
