I broke my glasses beyond repair on thursday and had my new pair on saturday. I had the pleasure of dealing with Ivonne who was fantastic. all my questions were answered and she didn't try to upsell. I felt she was very honest about what frames looked good and which didn't. If you want great service with a great staff Accuvision in schaumburg is the place for you.

I wanted to wait a full year since I had my laser eye surgery with Accuvision to review them as this is the minimum they recommend for the eyes to fully heal and settle down. I can safely say that it is one of the best purchases and investments I have ever made. I am extremely happy with the outcome and service I was offered. Why Accuvision? They seemed very trustworthy and understanding from the first consultation. They were happy to answer any questions, fears or doubts about the procedure or practice. The whole team from the receptionist through to the surgeon we're very friendly and attentive and the price they quoted was very competitive too. The surgery itself went very well and at worst was only a little uncomfortable which was to be expected. After 3 days I felt great and could see perfectly. The after care was excellent and thorough and I always felt in capable hands. Now a year on I couldn't be happier with the results and service. If you're considering having it done, don't delay, at least go for a consultation and see for yourself.

“Rude, Misleading & Unprofesional. ”

written by Trafford99 on 04/08/2015

I am appalled by the way I have been treated by Accuvision or more appropriately Inaccuvision. I requested a free consultancy to discuss the potential provision of laser surgery or some other form of treatment if that was not appropriate. Following a telephone call and 2 e-mails I was given an appointment by Accuvision in Harley Street. The Consultant was brilliant and wrote to my Dr requesting further information before making any recommendations. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill directly from the Consultant for £210.00. I e-mailed Accuvision pointing out the mistake expecting them to cover the cost. At no time was I told or even given the impression that the so called free consultancy would be billed because my condition was more complicated. When I politely tried to resolve the matter I was fobbed off with references to the website which if you can find it states that some consultancies have to be paid for. I would like to know how I would know until the appointment was completed but to have been given the impression it was free is wrong, and ultimately I was told to pay the bill and not to communicate with them again!! I would be very careful about using this company, their customer service is appalling, the website misleading and the attitude of the staff unprofessional.

Ataccuvision's Response to Trafford99's Review

An account that could not be further from the truth.
Accuvision offer a free - no obligation consultation to establish suitability for laser eye surgery. In addition we also refer patients to our consultant surgeons who specialise in treatments outside the remit of laser eye surgery as was the case here. We assisted and guided this patient to the appropriate professional (who he stated in his own words "was brilliant") to deal with their specific condition. He did not even have the decency to ask the consultant "what the cost would be?" So for him to expect US to pick up the tab for their Harley Street appointment shows just how ungrateful some people can be. Fortunately, this has been a singular exception and thousands of other referrals we have made over the years have been more than grateful for the time and effort we have spent as a service, ensuring they are put in contact with the most appropriate consultant.

This is the second time I've read a response by Accuvison to a comment left by a customer and I have to say I have been very put off by the non-professional and, frankly, prickly reply written by their representative. I judge companies by how they deal with customers, especially the ones who feel they have something to complain about - regardless of the reasonableness of the complaint. This response has put me off contacting Accuvision for an appointment for Laser surgery as it makes me wonder what they would be like should the surgery not go according to plan. Some customer service training would be really helpful I feel.

“Amazing!! Worth every penny!! ”

★★★★★

written by on 22/01/2015

I left writing this review after my 3 month check up just to give a more realistic review of my whole laser eye surgery experience. After being rejected at other laser eye surgery clinics due to my high prescription, (I was -9.00 in both eyes) I was over the moon when Accuvision accepted me for surgery. I was very excited and somewhat apprehensive as to what to expect. From the very start of my journey, where I came for a consultation 2 years ago and up until now, I have to be honest the staff have been amazing! Very polite and professional every step of the way! Yes it took me 2 years to finally make the decision to go ahead with laser surgery, but now I know it's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life especially after being rejected at other clinics. However, due to my high prescription (where I wore contact lens all the time) I was warned by the optometrists and even the surgeon on the day of my surgery, that I may be left with a very small prescription (from -9.00 in both eyes to -1.5). I was told I may need glasses just for clarity and I won't be dependent upon them as I have been for all my life so far. Nevertheless, knowing I won't need any contact lenses or even depend on glasses to see, I was very relieved to hear that there's still a chance I can be lens free. This alone was good enough for me so I agreed to have the surgery done. My surgery was done at Sollihull Bham. The surgery itself was a very quick and pain free procedure and it was over in 10 mins! The best part of it was when I went into the room, the surgeon took my glasses away and said I won't be needing them again, and when I sat up after the procedure I could read the sign on the wall opposite to where I was sat!! I couldn't believe it, i would never have been able to read that sign without lens or glasses, but now I could!! It was the best feeling ever!! However, my eyes were still very blurry and misty, which was partly due to the anaesthetic drops they put in my eyes and the surgery. I was told this will improve over the next 24 hours. From then on each day my eyes were getting better and better. I was back at work on the Tues (surgery was on the Saturday afternoon), however my eyes were still quite cloudy and misty due to the surgery but I was able to see and I even drove to work! My post surgery check up was on Monday and I even drove to the clinic! It's been nearly 4 months since my surgery, and my eyesight is near enough perfect! My last check up at 3 months showed I had 20:20 vision which was amazing since we all thought I'll still be left with a very small prescription. My eyes are a little dry occasionally which can leave them feeling abit tired and my vision goes a bit blurry, but this was still due to the healing process and I was reassured it can take upto 6 months or more to completely heal. Overall I am very pleased with my results and at how the staff at Accuvision have dealt with me. Everyone has been amazing and I would like to say a big thank u to each and every one of those staff members involved in my treatment!! I am very grateful for all they have done for me. Thank you

Really happy. I was nervous before hand but they were so professional they put me at ease. They were friendly, explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. The procedure itself was quick and easy and afterwards I got good support from them. Would definitely recommend.

“Best experience”

written by NatashaSard on 18/11/2014

I had I had a consultation for laser eye surgery about two years ago but couldn't afford the treatment at the time. Recently, I have planned to travel to Australia and did not want the hassle of glasses or contact lenses while I was out there. I went to a few different clinics for a consultation but some of them were not able to help me because of my drier than normal eyes and they thought I would have 'corneal cracks' after surgery. I came back to Accuvision and they said I could try their alternative treatment called Trans-Epi or Trans Epithelial Surface Ablation or TESA. This is an advanced procedure that Accuvision have been offering to patients since 2005. It would not eliminate the dry eye condition but would certainly minimise the impact of laser eye surgery on the dry eye condition. The consultation was very informative and unpressured. and on the basis of what they told me in great detail I felt confident to book my surgery with them. I booked my surgery at the Parsons green clinic for Friday the 3rd October 2014. The day of surgery was fine, I came in with my dad and everyone was good to me. The surgeon, Mr Prashant Jindal was lovely. I was aware of what was going on but it was completely painless. During my follow up appointment the next day I was told the healing was delayed as my tears do not have as much oil as normal tears. But I was expecting that and by using the drops I have been able to manage my recovery well. I was given some more drops for the night and at one stage around midnight I got confused with the drops and called their 'out of hours' number to leave a message, but it was picked up straight away and my mind was put at ease. They even called the following Monday to check I was OK. I was quite surprised by this especially when reading the reviews regarding poor follow up. I found the staff at Accuvision to be incredibly friendly and I was followed up quite closely, especially as my epithelium was healing from scratch. It was really appreciated. Since the surgery a month ago I can't believe the difference to my life. I was on Putney Bridge earlier and I could see the bus all the way across, I am sure I couldn't do that, even with my glasses. It feels so weird not wearing glasses anymore, especially not having to constantly take them off and clean them every time it rains. I would recommend laser eye surgery with Accuvision to anyone. Australia is going to be so much easier to enjoy, I'm looking forward to it even more now!

“Dissapointed”

written by jvDodd149 on 24/10/2014

Accuvision were recommended to me by 2 people and the initial consultation went well. Attentive staff and the surgery was a success too. However, I was left with a blurring in my left eye though although this was by design as my left eye was for close up work – reading etc and my right eye for distance work. Although I said before surgery I would rather have good binocular vision and wear reading glasses I was advised to take their professional advice and if I didn’t like the results they would operate again in 3 months to correct the vision in my left eye as was told “some people like it and some people hate it.” Unfortunately this turned out not to be the case. I’ve had several appointments since and each time, they try to talk me out of having the opp again and even after me insisting I want it done they make excuses not to do it. They would not offer me a Saturday appointment so I had to take time off work each time I paid them a visit (I'm self employed) One appt they claimed there were no free slots and to come back the following week. I returned but the surgeon said he would like to let my eyes heal a bit longer so left it another 3 months. Next booking the surgeon was off sick so had to reschedule again. Finally got a new appt and then had the same pantomime of them trying to talk me out of having the opp done. On the last occasion they said the risks of doing the opp far outweigh the benefits and it’s not worth my while doing it. I just don’t understand why I was initially told I could have the opp again on my left eye after 3 months if I wasn’t happy with the results (which I wasn’t) Then told to leave it a bit longer so it fully heals and then finally not to do it all! They seem to have a set routine for patients like me where they go out of their way not to operate twice and just hope I get fed up and disappear. They have your money, you've signed the disclaimers so you can’t touch them. All I will say is that if you’re considering having laser eye surgery, please don’t make the same mistake as me and do your own thorough research and don’t rely solely on recommendations. Needless to say I do not recommend using Accuvision.

“Poor Aftercare”

★★☆☆☆

written by bethechange on 16/10/2014

I have had my surgery done nearly a year ago (London, Wavefront Lasik). I have been left with an undercorrection and my vision is still slightly blurry without glasses. It happens and we all take that risk when we decide to go through with it (5-15% risk in the UK). The devil is in the aftercare. Accuvision claims to "highly value feedback on all aspects of the service they provide, from initial consultation through to surgery". That is very true, as my issues with the clinic started AFTER the surgery. After over three months, when it became clear the surgeon did not manage to achieve the expected result, I started enquiring about the possibility of enhancement. It was then that the tone of everyone in the clinic changed 180 degrees. An enhancement procedure is certainly a vast expense that the staff seem to be instructed to avoid at all costs. Effectively, I was successfully discouraged from it and have since been seeking expensive help elsewhere. Accuvision is clearly about numbers and sales targets rather than long lasting patient satisfaction. I am disappointed, though mostly with myself, for allowing them to fool me with their sales technique and false politeness. I believed they were somewhat better than the ´high street' laser surgery providers, unfortunately they are no different. A real eye-opener, so to speak... Avoid.

“Surgery resulted in permanent corneal damage”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Zechariah177 on 26/03/2014

I consulted Accuvision about intraocular lens implants for correction of myopia, following a radial keratotomy over 20 years earlier. Their optometrist recommended a PRK procedure instead. After a successful PRK on my right eye, I underwent the same procedure on my (very slightly myopic) left eye. Unfortunately the second procedure was unsuccessful and I ended up with corneal scarring to a depth of 20% and significantly reduced vision in my left eye, from previously near normal vision. On follow up visits I was repeatedly assured that everything was following a normal course, and there was never any acknowledgment of corneal damage. I ultimately required a corneal transplant to replace my scarred left cornea, and will require follow up monitoring and treatment for the rest of my life. While corneal scarring is a recognised complication of laser eye surgery, I would have appreciated an admission that the procedure had failed. And if I could turn back the clock I would not undergo laser surgery for cosmetic reasons. It may be successful in over 90% of cases, but that leaves a lot of people with suboptimal results.

“Couldn't be happier”

★★★★★

written by Tracieh on 18/02/2014

I am (sorry was) very long sighted - more than +6.5 in each eye. For 44 years I wore thick glasses - from the age of 2. I was not deemed suitable for laser surgery anywhere, so I looked into intra-ocular lenses, but found my eyes were too short. Very disappointed, I refused to take no for an answer and sent enquiry after enquiry to various clinics. One day I got a response from Accuvision offering a consultation for laser surgery. I explained that I was +6.5 and therefore unsuitable (I thought), but they said they specialised in higher prescriptions and invited me to go for a consultation in Solihull. I was apprehensive, but was really put at my ease, with lots of tests, and everything explained indepth, but with no pressure. I was told I may be left with a small residual prescription if I went ahead, but after being reliant on glasses for absolutely everything for my whole life, the thought of only wearing glasses for close reading etc was very attractive. I booked in, and had my surgery on 11 January 2014 at Solihull. It cost £3600. The procedure itself took 8 minutes altogether and didn't hurt a bit. I made the mistake of watching a procedure on YouTube - not recommended, in hindsight I'd rather not know what was going on. My eyes were a bit uncomfortable for a couple of days afterwards, and I spent day one with my eyes closed, listening to music - not a bad way to spend time. I had dry eyes for about 4 weeks, but drops helped and it's now much better with drops only once or twice a day. I am now at about week 6, and I just couldn't be happier. I have 20:20 vision, and just need 'off the shelf readers' (+1.00) for computer use at work. At nearly 46 years old I think that would be the case if I'd never had bad eyesight. I never felt under any pressure from Accuvision, and the after care has been fine. I would recommend them to anyone, particularly if you have a high prescription and have tried elsewhere without success. I'm so glad I did, it's changed my life.

“Very Mixed”

★★★☆☆

written by on 14/05/2013

I had wavefront LASIK at Accuvision, Fulham a few years ago so some of this may not be relevant but here goes. Initial consultation was very good. There was no hard-sell and I left feeling very confident I'd found the right place. The surgery itself went very well. However, I don't think they made it clear how long it would take to get the final results. I would say it was about 9 months before my eyes really settled down. I didn't expect that. My gripe was with with the after "care" I received. The people didn't seem to give a damn what my concerns were. I found that rather shocking because my eyesight even a month or so afterwards wasn't what I'd hoped. I hope Accuvision have got the aftercare sorted out. The equipment and surgery is very good.

“Exemplary Laser Eye Surgery Service and Aftercare”

★★★★★

written by RonCD on 16/11/2012

When considering having Laser Eye surgery I went on recommendations from three separate friends rather than research and price. Two friends had treatment elsewhere and were not very complimentary about the clinics they had been to, my other friend however had been to Accuvision in Solihull and after listening to her feedback I knew straight away where to have my surgery. My first consultation was thorough, professional and I was made to feel at ease with all my questions answered about the options available to me. It was also very evident that Accuvision were not just after my money, the Consultant was very insistent that I go away and consider the treatment before signing up and wanted to ensure that I'd thought it through properly. As I so impressed by their service, and my friends experience, I booked my treatment straight away. On the day of the surgery it's self I was given the upmost care and attention and whilst having the treatment I was given a running commentary on what was happening and made to feel totally relaxed. The aftercare was of the same high standard with clear instructions on how to look after my eyes post surgery and regular checkups booked in. Within a very, very short space of time it was like I'd never even had the surgery in the first place and the only regret I have is that I didn't do it years ago when I was worried about Laser Eye surgery. From my first consultation visit to my last aftercare appointment Accuvision were nothing short of exemplary and I could not recommend them enough, and have done so to three other friends who have completed their treatment. Accuvision should be the natural choice for anyone considering Laser Eye surgery.

“Life Changing Laser Eye Surgery”

★★★★★

written by barrie90 on 31/10/2012

I was very short-sighted (-6.75D with astigmatism) and had to wear glasses since the age of 9. I also experimented with different types of contact lenses but could wear them only a few hours per day. Additionally, the correction with contact lenses was never perfect, so I used them only for sports. I know Accuvision as a brilliant symbiosis between WaveLight refractive laser systems and one of the world's best surgeons, achieving extraordinary good treatment results. Once I had decided to undergo laser eye surgery, it was therefore clear that Accuvision was the best possible choice, although this meant that I had to travel from Germany to London. The treatment itself was almost painless and took only a few minutes for both eyes. And now, 2 months after surgery, I am still very happy with the result and enjoy the new freedom. My vision is now slightly better than with glasses, and significantly better than with contact lenses. Thank you very much to Darius and the Accuvision team for this great experience. From the very beginning, I felt that I was in the best hands! I can highly recommend Accuvision to anyone considering laser eye surgery. WaveLight Laser technology, handling speed, surgical skills (with phenomenal thin flaps) and many years of experience are responsible for the constantly outstanding results at Accuvision. What a perfect combination!

“Untrustworthy”

★☆☆☆☆

written by another_reviewer on 21/10/2012

My consultation with Accuvision started with the scans, after which the optometrist asked if I had been told I had Keratoconus before. I had never heard of it, so he explained that it is a degenerative eye condition that can cause blindness. He compared my scans to scans of Keratoconus to back up his diagnosis. He asked if anybody else in my family had Keratoconus, as he said it ran in families. He said it was stable but that it may deteriorate, and need cross linking, at any time, with or without the surgery.

I asked why nobody had diagnosed this before (Optimax said I was fine) and he said Accuvision were experts in Keratoconus, and so they were better at diagnosing it. He later emailed that comparing them to Optimax was like comparing apples and pears. He quoted a price for surgery, and another for cross-linking, but he wanted to check the surgeon was happy with his plan. As I left he gave me an Accuvision leaflet on Keratoconus so that I had more information on my condition.

The main focus in my consultation was Keratoconus. The only warning I remember him giving was that there was no guarantee I would be able to read the bottom line of the chart after surgery, but that the second lowest should be fine. He was very confident and I was left convinced I had Keratoconus.  I was so worried about my eyes that I refused to risk going somewhere with less experienced in Keratoconus.

He emailed to say the surgeon was happy to do the surgery, but that due to the shape of my cornea (which he had said was Keratoconus) it would cost £1000 more. There was a new price for cross-linking too. He stated that there was no guarantee I would have perfect vision after surgery but it would be much improved.

I only had a few weeks free so I asked if I should delay the surgery until later, but they gave me extensive confirmation that my eyesight would be better within the time I had. Their emails state that, though my eyes would still be recovering, by the time I had my bandage contact lenses removed (a few days after surgery) my eyesight would be better than it was prior to surgery. Their patient care promise says they “will be honest about potential outcomes for your vision”, and they claimed to have a cautious approach, which made me believe that they were being realistic about my recovery. At no point was I told that for months after surgery my eyesight might be worse than before.

Even when signing to accept that I might need a 2nd surgery, I had a staff member saying that it did not really apply to me, as my prescription was so low.

At my 2nd check-up after surgery I was told that my eyesight would improve within 72 hours, but after this one eye was still far worse than before surgery, and so I emailed Accuvision. They admitted later that they saw something was not right but they did not say this at the time, and just left me not taking drops and with no check-ups for 2 weeks.

Finally they admitted that it might be months before my eyesight returned to its pre-surgery level, let alone improve. If they had said this before I would not have had surgery: so much for their patient care promise. I was left rearranging my plans and my work, and being kept away from my family.

Then when I asked another optometrist if Keratoconus was the cause of my problems he replied that I had never had Keratoconus. Before going to Accuvision I had not heard of this condition, and it was why I paid an extra £1000 and why I chose to have surgery with them. Now hearing I had never had this condition seemed unbelievable.

For 3 months I took the drops I had been put back onto and I used a contact lens in one eye (which I had never done before). When I first ran out of drops they said to still use them and a new bottle was sent to me. When I ran out again I emailed Accuvision but I got no reply.

With promises having gone unfulfilled, so much conflicting information (including whether I had a serious eye condition) and also emails regarding my aftercare being ignored I was left very disillusioned. I sent a complaint to them, but they just asked me to attend a check-up.

The check-up showed that my eyes had improved but were still not right. As they could not do a 2nd surgery until my eyes were stable they promised to send me some new lenses. They repeatedly promised that they would order them straight away as I was going abroad shortly after.

As I left they asked me to have a meeting about my complaint, but I said I did not want to. I had come about my eyes, and I was not prepared for anything else. Despite this I was pressured into it. At this point if Accuvision had apologised and really addressed my complaint I would have been happy, but they did not. The head of the surgical team (also founder of Accuvision) led the meeting.  He was the one who had decided to charge me the extra £1000. I found him condescending and insincere, and he made me feel very uncomfortable by touching my arm.

He said that I had never had Keratoconus, and that they had never said I did. He said he knew my case, and as I had not thought about how focused on Keratoconus my consultation had been for ages I felt unable to defend my point. I just felt bullied by him, but as I have said I had not heard of Keratoconus before my consultation with Accuvision.

He also said the extra £1000 was so cross-linking could be included in the price, which directly contradicts the emails they sent prior to surgery. Whether he was lying to me, or whether he had forgotten why he set that price I was left disgusted when I reread the emails and saw this contradiction. They have still not even acknowledged this discrepancy.

After this he asked what Accuvision could do to make things better and I asked them to return the £1000 I paid because of Keratoconus. He then promised they would write soon.

Despite their promises they had still not been in touch after 10 days, and no contact lenses had arrived. I emailed them, and they called to say they would write soon. They also said the lenses had not been ordered yet so they would not arrive before I left the country, despite all the promises. He said they would post them to me abroad. Obviously they had forgotten all their promises. Later in emails they even claimed they had posted the lenses abroad at my request, which is ridiculous given it was due to these forgotten promises.

The letter arrived with a small contribution towards refunding the extra I paid. Combined with the broken promises, and their attitude in the meeting, the amount reinforced the feeling of insincerity that I had been given.

They claim to have maintained their professionalism, despite using disproportionately aggressive and threatening language, and making accusations against me, including claiming I have written things that I have not. One website even asked if I had said I would post negative reviews if I did not get more money. This had to be Accuvision, as they have made similar claims to me directly. I have even re-read every email to make sure I have never said anything inadvertently, and I can honestly say there is nothing like this anywhere. I asked them to show me when I had said this, but I have had no reply. They have the same emails I have so I cannot see how they can defend their position on any level. This has caused me a lot of stress, and the loss of lots of sleep, especially as I have to go back to them, as my eyesight is still not right.

So I agreed to surgery, and paid an extra £1000, based on the fact that they said I had a degenerative eye condition, when I just had a strangely shaped cornea: a big difference. I have repeatedly been given conflicting, and contradictory information, and I have been faced with unfounded accusations made by senior members of staff. I wish I had gone somewhere trustworthy (whatever the cost), but I fell for a great sales pitch, and claims of superiority, with no substance behind them. They still refuse to explain, or justify my experiences.

The initial consultation and diagnosis of Keratoconus was in Wetherby, then the surgery, and most of the check-ups were in Solihull. The only check up that was not there was the one that included the meeting, which I was told had to be in London due to the fact that they had not seen my eyes in a while, and the London clinic apparently is better equipped to deal with certain problems.

Hope that helps.

Please google My Beautiful Eyes campaign manager and contact her asap regarding your experience. I am an Accuvision victim, and she helped me. She has a lot of information about Accuvision.

“Best choice I ever made.”

★★★★☆

written by Alecjwillson on 01/04/2012

After years of eyesight getting worse and opticians telling me it was down to age and nothing I could do about it. Saw an advert from Accuvision, wrote them an email and within a few minutes had phone call inviting me to London clinic. I duly made appointment and went to the clinic and after extensive tests was told my eyes were ok for treatment. I had my prescription sunglasses converted to plain glass as instructed and was driven to the clinic by family. The treatment was over in less than 2 minutes and at no time was there any pain, just a slight discomfort at having your eyelids wedged open. It has now been about 5 years since treatment and my eyesight has been perfect. My left eye was treated for distance and the right for reading and they both just adjust for normal viewing. I am approaching my 75th year and my left eye is only now starting to get a bit fuzzy, but what do expect when you are old. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE TREATMENT TO ANYONE. It is not cheap, but you do,nt have to buy any more spectacles and replace them every couple of years, so it is money well spent. ALEC WILLSON

“totally agree with review, i had laser surgery and...”

totally agree with review, i had laser surgery and after close to a year both eyes are improved, but blurry looking at a PC and they have now over corrected my vision by +.75
Upon a follow up after 10 months, the Irish women you works there litterally rushed through my checkup and after 10 min told me there was nothing they could do, i litterally had to ask her what my prescription was and what can be done. After walking out i made another appointment to see Vic, who was a lot better, however my vision was WAY better with lenses/glasses! And to think how much i paid for this!

I had the same experience with the Irish women, she was more interested in getting home then telling me what my prescription was. She in fact lied, my eyes were overcorrected to +1.50 and +1.00 and the astigamatism is the same.Apart from the bad surgery I was lied to at every appointment about my prescription, my poor sight was even blamed on air conditioning! I was told the prescription was marginal. I do not call those figures marginal.

I had suspected for years now that as I got ripped off by Accuvision for completely wrong ops that there are likely to be more cases like mine, so I'm very pleased to have found this site/thread. As with others here who've had bad experiences with this 'clinic', I advise you to please google and contact My Beautiful Eyes campaign manager who has helped me so much over the last 3 years. She is campaigning for regulation to be imposed on the laser/refractive eye surgery industry as there is none (yes really none) at present. One top surgeon even states this on his clinics website. If I had known years ago what I now know about how risky these surgeries are, and how bad the so-called 'clinics' will treat their patients, there's no way I'd have risked my most precious sense being ruined and I'd advise anyone contemplating having ops to not end up having their eyes and lives utterly ruined.

“Having been told several years ago that Laser Surgery...”

★★★★★

written by on 12/03/2011

Having been told several years ago that Laser Surgery was not an option. A friend of a friend recommended AccuVision, Wetherby. I made an appointment for a consultation. I have worn glasses/lenses since I was a child and my dream was to be able to jump into my car and drive without the aid of glasses or lenses. I was very much impressed with the clinic and staff who were very professional. After my eyes had been tested and checked I was told that AccuVision were the only organisation who could help and indeed I could have surgery, also in all probability I would achieve my dream - driving without glasses/lenses. Had my surgery Wednesday 9 March 2011. Thursday morning I was delgihted and absolutely AMAZED with the result I felt so quickly, I had an appointment that morning and was tested at the clinic and was told I was indeed legal to drive. Can't say how thrilled, excited and delighted I am and my eyes get better each day. I would without any doubt at all recommend AccuVision and say Thank you for this gift they have given me and their commitment, making a person feel so important to them. I am left on cloud nine.

“My 18 year old son was a +5 in both eyes.Optical...”

written by on 25/06/2010

My 18 year old son was a +5 in both eyes.Optical Express would not consider him for surgery so after research on the net i came across Accuvision. They assessed him in Newcastle, surgeon was an hour late but he had a clinic in Whetherby that had over run,and he had then dashed up for our appointment. After drops and examination it was discovered my boy was actually +7 but they were confident he would be a good candidate. We made an appointment for surgery and the cost was no more expensive than the Optical Express,Optimax prices. He was seen in Whetherby for the surgery. The staff in the clinic were professional and friendly these .The care on the day was good.I went to Optical Expres a week later for my own eye surgery and what a difference....not in the end result as we can both see but just in the approach.I felt as though i was an eyeball attatched to a body whereas my boy was made to feel totally at ease and spoken to the whole time.I have contacted them between appointments for bits of advice and they instantly know who he is.I am so impressed. He now has 20-20 vision, having worn glasses from 3 years old.The surgeons are the type of dedicated forward thinkers who want eye surgery to progres and want the best for their patients and will offer good advice. If you are thinking of eye surgery contact these people.I put the sight of my child in their hands and am so pleased with the outcome

I found this review very helpful because...It proves the point yet again that not all laser eye surgery clinics are the same, have the same capability, the same level of expertise and technology. It pays to do a little more research into laser eye surgery for the sake of your future vision, rather than be rushed into it by some of the high street clinics - great review.
