I was anxious about laser eye surgery as I have heard some horror stories but liked the idea of a free consultation so I could make up my own mind. I did lots of research and initially only wanted to go to Moorfields but then I found Accuvision. Their results were excellent and they had consultants who also worked at Moorfields, plus they did a free consultation.I went along and asked lots of questions and had several tests done and all options were explained to me. My eye sight was not that bad, -3.5 in both eyes but I had a bumpy cornea so I opted for the Trans-epithelial LASIK which I was told was longer off work - 4 days, but less invasive and the better treatment for me. I booked in shortly afterwards and took Friday and Monday off work to recover. The Friday morning came quickly and I had after a few more tests I had the operation in under 10 minutes. It was painless and like watching a laser light show. Slightly uncomfortable and a bit odd having to look at all these lights but really nothing to worry about. I was picked up by my husband and taken home where I sat in a dark room with my sunglasses on all day. It was very painful for a few hours afterwards once the anesthetic had worn off but I was given more anesthetic drops to ease the pain which I decided not to take as I was told they slow the healing process. On reflection I should have taken some to ease my discomfort but that afternoon the pain was much less and by morning it was totally gone. I was sensitive to sunlight for a few days but that was all. My vision was instantly better on the Saturday and kept improving for 2 weeks.I went back 2 weeks later for my check up and eye test and was told my eyes still had some healing to do but currently my prescrition was 20:20 in one eye and better than 20:20 in the other.I have another appointment next week, 6 weeks on so I should hopefully be better than 20:20 in both eyes.Without doubt the best thing I have ever done for myself and I would not hesitate to recommend Accuvision to all my family and friends. Indeed a few members of my family are now considering when to have their eyes done.

Check out their pricing. £395 per eye is a promise probably to clean your existing glasses. Ask others how much full wavefront treatment would probably cost for your prescription. Mine was £1900 for both eyes at -4.5 They don't make outrageous promises but give you more than you probably hoped for.
From the first point of contact to the actual surgery, I have had nothing but great expertise and confident communication. I rang many others before getting to Accuvision and none of the ...- Read chasletaxi's review (180 words)

Friendly honest and helpful. The surgery I needed due to my cateracts was done in a proffesional and very caring manner.
I live in South Wales and the journey for check ups and treatment has to be organised as I cannot pop down the road.
I have recommended Accuvision to friends who are fed up with wearing glasses and I hope they take the trouble to get in touch with them as I think they are the best.- Read Bizzyme's review (78 words)

If you want friendly service then great place to go, but if you want good results or even honest report of your post surgery never to go this place. My personal view: They are bunch of door to door sales people. They should be running curry house, not sure if I will eat though- Read eeja's review (108 words and 1 comment)

I had Epi-Lasik eye surgery with Accuvision in May 2007. When I first went to see them I found them completely helpful and not in the slightest salesy. There was no pressure at all to have extras added onto the cost (approx £1500).
The surgery itself was clean and painless (although due to having the rarer Epi-Lasik type there was a few days of awkwardness, but that's normal). The after-care was amazing and when I had to go back after hours for a checkup they were happy to see me. They w ...- Read flyer123's review (231 words)

If I'd known about them sooner I'd have looked into it further, but they are not that well advertised and I'd already booked with Accuvision.
