“Patronising and Rude staff”

My firm offers free eye tests from David Clulow and the Jubilee Place branch is close to where I work. After returning from holiday I discovered that my eye had gone very red and vision was blurred. The optician who examined me asked if my lenses had touched water. I told her that I had been to a big theme park that had rides and also a water park area. I had worn my lenses to get about there as the place was huge.

Very disappointed with the service at Canary Wharf (Cabot Place) - (1) Staff and optometrist were notably unfriendly during my eye examination (2) I was told to come back for the prescription. I went three times after work (which is the only time I get) only to be told each time that the optometrist has gone home and her signature is required. “The irritable optometrist gave me the wrong prescription”

The service was terrible.. during my eye test when I was unsure between two choices of lense, the optometrist would get extremely annoyed with me. But that was far from the worst part.. 2 months after wearing the glasses I paid £500 for, I suffer from the worst headaches and eye soreness. “Inferior product with no warranty”

Spent over £500 on a pair of rimless glasses. After 8 months they literally fell off my face during normal wear. The lens had broken where it connects to the nose part. Took them back and was told that the warranty only lasts 6 months so tough you will have to pay full price for repair. I did this and they again failed in the same place in less than a further year. My visit cost me a fortune and incredible amount of stress. I should point out that I had been a couple of years previously and had lovely service. But on my most recent visit, the chaos began when they could not find my records, and gave me the impression that it was somehow my fault for not going regularly enough. “Rubbish”

Bought a pair of Channel frames and after a week the painted end of the frame started to peel off and returned frames to David Clulow Bluewater and was told that as lenses was not fitted in the shop the frame was not under warranty. “Terrible Service and Time Wasters”

I have been wearing contact lenses for about 20 years. I have been wearing Acuvue Moist for a long time now. David Clulow in Basingstoke insisted on me trying different lense makes and made me come back repeatedly to the store for "fittings". High St Kensington branch. Started off very well, good comprehensive eye test then it all went wrong when it came to choosing my glasses. They were snooty and rude and completely unhelpful. When i finally did chose some frames that i liked they then said i couldn't have them with my lenses. ( perhaps should point that out first!) Also £810 for 2 pairs of glasses is very steep indeed. “Poor comunication and customer service”

I am very disappointed with the customer service at Canary wharf branch. I visited 30/12/2013 had eye test and chose frames. (Not cheap) I explained that I was returning to France 15/01/2014 and was told my glasses would be ready for collection 12/01/2014. “Could not care a less !”

Buying and choosing glasses is a personal and EXPENSIVE business therefore you would expect staff to be experienced,attentive and at least CARE that the customer has decent service. NOT the case is ISLINGTON where I have encountered the worst service ever in buying new glasses. “I feel cheated”

I am happy with the frames but I spent £370 on the varifocal lenses. I told the staff immediately that the glasses are of no use for working on a PC I could see that from the card used to test this I would only get a blurred image. I was told to go away and come back after 2 weeks having tried them out as it takes time for eyes to adjust. “Ripped off multiple times”

I went to their optician, started of good service, arranged a prescription and glasses. However the glasses failed to meet the spec i paid for, such as scratch resistance, where the same glasses failed even after i got the lens replaced. “Worst service ever”

Completely incompetent staff, each person had a different view on the types of glass (reduction index and tint combinations). Most of the information I was given was actually incorrect. I have been waiting for over a month to get my glass fitted in my frame in a satisfactory way. Communication is poor, their promises to call me have mostly been unfulfilled. “Could try harder”

I went to DC in Covent Garden and have never felt so taken care of in any other optician here in London. The eye check was done exceptionally well by Niki and the other staff was cheerful and helpful. Awful service. Was told I'd get next day delivery and rushed down the M4 from London to be with the Oracle branch before 20:00, closing time. Then was told it was a wasted effort, the glasses weren't ready because of quality control issues. “Truly awful, will never return!”

Ordered 2 pairs of glasses. 1st one they called and said glasses are ready. Asked them to check they were ok as it was a 30 mile round trip and wanted to be sure they were ok. They called back and said optician had checked and they were fine. Made the trip,put glasses on felt sick and double vision.
