“AVOID Blackpool Clifton Store Opticians”

Initial sight test free and good with pleasant optician. Downhill from there. Fitting not good. Pupil distances not measured right. Chipped frame. Scuffed lense. Decided to call it a day after the poor service involved with ordering a third replacement pair and got refund instead. Didn't have any faith they would sort things out properly. “Appallingly poor service”

Decided to give Tesco a chance to avoid conveyor style service by others and found to my cost made a poor choice. At Aberdeen branch was tested and was advised my order was ready for collection earlier than expected. Great, I thought, until I went to collect them. “Awful Service”

I have been to Tesco opticians on 4 occasions to have an eye test and teach sessions for contact lenses. On all 4 occasions they have been at least 20 minutes late for my appointment meaning I haven't had time to actually get my contacts in and out in the same session as I have only had the time to pop out on my lunch break. Had a online order for lenses rejected because my check up was due. I checked this out with tesco sandhurst (my optician) who said the system had the wrong date. They changed it. I phoned Tesco Optician Online and asked them to reinstate the order. They said they would contact sandhurst to check and phone back. “Worst optician ever”

Tesco needs to employ better professionals as opticians then what they have in Toton tesco extra now. I took my 5 yr old son on saturday but he was referred to sunday for not cooperating but actually i think she was not sure what she was doing. I doubt her ability as she cudnt prescribed correct lenses. On Sunday i took my son again as he was recommended to use eye drop before test. “never again”

ordered two pair of varifocals, 1 sunglasses. Got first pair in a week but noticed that lenses were not thin and light as ordered. Had to wait a week to see manager as no one would take responsibility. Manager agreed that lenses were wrong and stated that he would be asking lab for an explanation, galaxy. The following day I got a call and the assistant told me that it could take months of arguing with galaxy before, if at all things would be put right. Just an update, called into Tesco and got the manager, who, after various measurements had to agree that the lenses were not made correctly, the pd was 6 ml out.
Now sent off to have correct lenses fitted and getting ultra thin at no charge.
See how this works out before I congratulate them

“Very Bad Service”

Bought Bi-focal glasses for the first time and told them that I used a computer sometimes. On getting glasses could not use computer without sitting 6in away from screen, impossible to read unless I held it in the air. Went to Tesco opticians in Gateshead, very poor service and only interested in getting the sale. My partner insisted that I went as I was using reading glasses that cost a pound and that I could be doing some damage to my eyes, so after my eye test I was given a peace of paper that was snatched out of my hand by an assistant and taken over to some frames and told that I would need reflective coating as I was using computers at work. Bought 2 pairs and they have been nothing but a problem. Been back to the store on numerous occasions but apart from having to repeatedly repair them the manager is completely disinterested. “Don't order online from Tesco Optitians”

Still waiting well past thirty days now. The number you call to track your order will just tell you they are "in transit" and give you the number for your collection store. The indoor opticians will just say "we have no control or information about internet orders". They are very efficient in taking your money though. Please do not buy from any Tesco opticians as they are done by Galaxy and if Tesco tell you it is a part of there company its not... check company house. You have to sign extra hand written agreement and they tell you the max dates and still 5 days late... so 1 pair of glasses took 26 days... Nearly £300.00 to wait all that time. Decided to choose Tesco Opticians for my next set of replacement glasses. Read reviews, listened to other people who had used them. Eye test fine, choosing glasses fine. Then came delivery to the store...my lovely Nike designer glasses (cost £205).....one pair broken, one pair broke within two hours and needed two repairs. “Tesco Rimless Glasses”

Tesco are using a new system for rimless glasses which involves a plastic socket where the lens contacts the nose bridge. This is does not work. Within a month the socket loosens as the plastic is stretched. Soon the lens detaches from the bridge and a new socket has to be installed. One of my glasses broke when it detached and fell off my face, and stood upon by the person walking next to me. Hartlepool store! Most unhelpful staff member! Wouldnt change glasses when we pointed out lens had broken on my new spare pair, even though they hadn't even been worn! “Poor quality”

I picked a nice looking rimless pair of glasses and took delivery within a couple of weeks. However, I noticed almost immediately that the materials looked quite flimsy. With a rimless pair, it is essential that there is flexibility in the arms as there is no frame to support the lenses. This was proved to be true as within 6 months they got caught behind my ear and, with only a gentle pull, the lens snapped away from the central bracket.
