Went for Tesco glasses as the sales assistant said they used Rodenstock lenses and they would give money back if they did not work. So I thought I will give them a go. Had fitting and got glasses back within a couple of weeks. Seemed ok in the store but when started to use them for real they were not. The distance was ok (not as good as my pound shop readers) mid vision not too good all a bit out of focus. “Unfriendly”

The eye test was fine. The service after was not. The annoying lady that keeps insisting glasses will suit/ be better for me than my choice. No warmth. I should of walked away but being a bit anxious I was rather manipulated. (turns out she is the manager!)I ended up with 2 pairs-(buy 1 get 1 free) and one pair is awful. The style and fit. After complaining about my problem all I received is a letter favouring their staff. How funny they said they will investigate and yet they came with deceptive conclusions . Terrible quality and even worse customer service, im literally appalled. Avoid like the plague! Bought some really nice ray ban style BINK sunglasses with polarised lenses from Tesco opticians (cost 90 pounds), took them on holiday and the arm snapped off at the metal join within a week!I had treated them so carefully, Iv never spent that much on sunglasses before. Similar experience as Tesco Leicester. Would definitely avoid like the plague. Disgraceful behaviousr and tactics. No wonder Tesco are going down the pan rapidly!!

My favourite quote from their report "We have assessed the order and found the breakage to the left hinge has been caused by handling and not a manufacturing defect"
So basically tesco are qualified to decide it's not a manufacturing defect but I'm not qualified to decide on how is it isn't acceptable to handle them? If this isn't a manufacturing defect then they simply aren't fit for purpose!
May I add the frame replacement is 30 pounds. I can't believe they are willing to loose a customer over 30 quid

Had one of the free eyesight tests at Tesco Opticians, The Meadows, Sandhurst. “Quick to grab my money”

Tesco Opticians took payment for contact lenses from me before they had confirmed the order with my optician. The order was denied but Tesco Opticians were happy to keep my money and not transfer it over until the end of next week. This isn't right! “Possibly the worst CUSTOMER SERVICE ever”

I booked my appointment online, when I arrived, they had no record of the appointment and I had to wait until the optician was free. I was persuaded to pay for expensive bifocals and only shown designer frames. My glasses arm came off and because this is apparently my fault, I'm expected to pay £95 for new frames. felt extremely sorry for a lady working in Failsworth store today ran off her feet must have been 10 or 12 people waiting, phones ringing, a customer complaining, myself and husband walked away and so did another couple. surely more work force is needed doesn't fair well with people looking to book an examination

I went for my two year eye exam to be told I didn't need glasses and had near perfect vision. This was a shock to me since I have been wearing glasses for 8 years and using irvine tesco for 6 of those 8 years I was obviously very surprised. Very bad experience! When to Tesco opticians in Waterford, been there 10 min before the appointment time but optician wasn't there. Been waiting for 30 min until he is back. So I wait just over 2 weeks and after hearing nothing I go in to find out where my glasses are. "Oh they are here" says he. "We have the wrong phone number for you so couldn't contact you." he continues. Obviously Tesco have never heard of the postman. “SIGHT BATTLE OVER DEAFNESS!”

Three months since ordering glasses (£234.00 upfront). I am still awaiting a pair of glasses fit for purpose, and lenses have never been changed therefore I am still unable to read etc., with glasses provided.
