Just been misold another pair of glasses from this firm. Should have known better but the high price - £600 - fooled me into believing they would be good. I first went to Boots when they took over Dolland & Aitchison. Chose glasses that came with magnetic sunglasses attachment but the sunglasses never really seemed to fit properly. “Boots Contact Lenses. Disorganised. Shoddy. Timewasting.”

Dreadful. It's taken 4 appointments so far to try to get some very simple contact lenses, and I still do not have them. Boots have 1) On the first appointment, written down a conversation I never had, so that on the second appointment completely the wrong lenses had been ordered for me. 2) Kept me waiting on the second appointment over half an hour (for a one-hour appointment) and then gave me the wring lenses. 3) Back again a week later; I requested lenses only for the left eye; they had them… Read Full Review

“worst experience with ANY company so far”

So, ill start with booking the appointment with the opticians. I called their booking center, I got an appointment after one week, had to book time off work and when I got to their opticians they told me they don't have anything booked on my name, even tho all the details as to where and when were discussed with the guy on the phone. “Stay away from these amateurs”

Boots should stick to pharmacy and cosmetics NOT in an area where they are clearly inexperienced. They use a lot of locum opticicians and not their own staff. My experience last yesr was a nightmare. I will never go there again. I was given the wrong prescription, which they said would correct. They dud and are now worse than ever - but they offered yo give me another pair free. “victimised pensioner”

In April I purchassed a pair of rimless framed glasses where I was told to leave a deposit which I did , it has taken four attempts to get these correct without any faults. Boots Opticians what a poor excuse for a retailer. Hemel Hempstead store lack of staff, unprofessional and a waste of my time. After ordering a pair of £300 Dolce and Gabana glasses they came in after 5 days only to find them miss shapen and ill fitting I have never seen anything like it. I was asked to come back to store for another eye test, went back to the store and was informed that there was no appointment in place. I was asked for the 4th time to return to the store next week. “Terrible customer service”

Bought a pair of designer glasses from the Streatham store. Case broke, at first I was told that I had to pay for a replacement case as I had broken it. Apparently by opening and closing the glasses case which I had for 5 months only, that I had broken the said case. Long story short, they ordered another case, however, one month on, after ringing the local branch I have just been told that this can take months, as the manufacture does not have spares. Having your eyes tested and buying new glasses used to be fun. Lately and especially this most recent time I felt railroaded into spending more than I wanted to. I was told that the optician had recommended thin and light lenses. Really? Her job is surely to determine the correct prescription. I wasn't asked about coatings they were just added. Optician said my sight had deteriorated, yet is has been improving year on year (I have since had another eye test and it has improved). She said my contact lenses prescription was way out and couldn't understand it, I explained that one eye was set up for reading, the other for distance. She said as my eyes had deteriorated this would no longer be possible. To start with the customer service was appalling, left waiting around twice, once for for 1 hour. One time for no reason at all the other time because they chose to put what I would describe as a well to do lady in front of me even though I protested at this and informed them that my parking ticket was almost up but they were not in the slightest interested. “Few highlights in service, product is awful.”

As the headline states there were good points in the customer care offered by the staff. All pleasant, all had a go at addressing the issues of poor lenses. I've paid almost £300 for the frame and lenses and I've had to return them twice. I'll go back next week and ask for a refund because the vision I get is unacceptable. I took my 5 year old to get his eyes tested to find that they didn't have any free frames that fit his head so I paid for the frames that fitted him and was told to bring him back in 3 months the frame started buckling after 3 weeks so on the 3 month visit I said about the frame and was told they will sort it out and he was referred to the hospital and that was 2 months till his appointment then last week the frame gave up and snapped so took them in to be repaired to be told couldn't be fixed… Read Full Review

At the Victoria branch optician phoned while I was there she would be 30 mins late. Receptionist didn't offer to make a new appointment or call me to make a new one.
