After my usual, annual eye test at Boots in Yeovil I bought more imaginative glasses at a much more reasonable price elsewhere.Within an hour of collecting them, the pain in my eyeballs, eye-sockets and head was unimaginably severe.I returned to Boots who at once attempted to lie, blaming the glazing company.Their retail manager also lied, constantly tried to talk over me if I dared to say anything and attempted to lie about what I has said, trying to drive up the confrontation. “Don't die”

“Unprofessional, poor customer service, dismissive”

£213 transitional glasses broke after only 6 weeks and the lens was lost. Oxford Street optician assistant was unhelpful, lacked customer service, gave incorrect information and tried to blame me for problem when the glasses were obviously faulty. Implied that because I did not have a case it was no wonder the glasses broke. But I did have a case and even after I showed him my case I used he did not seem to believe me. “Doesn't know uv number number”

Wanted to choose a pair of sunglasses and asked said optical consultant about the uv protection for the particular glasses I had chosen. She proceeded to tell me she had not heard of what I was talking about. I explained the uv protection was a number eg. 400, 200 which indicated the level of protection from sunlight. “Slow and Expensive”

When I went to the Basildon branch all the staff were walking around and no-one stopped to help, even though I was trying to catch someone's eye to be seen. I wasn't seen until 20 minutes after my appointment time. It wasn't clear at all from the website how expensive the test is, £25. When I ordered over the internet and confirmed on the phone no-one mentioned the price. paid £185 March 2015 tricked into get second pair half price wear glasses only for reading, picked them up and leg fell clean off as I take care of my possessions was surprised took them to Irvine store and told the guarantee was up by a month so I would have to pay £75 for repair. “Good and bad”

Although we haven't collected our glasses yet, the service at Thetford boots seemed fine but as it took several weeks to get an appointment and the young gentleman serving us said the waiting is usually quick but for some reason everyone is having to book weeks in advance which resulted in my vouchers being out of date and therefore my student daughter and my first pair of glasses cost full price and just the second pair half price. i have been going to boots for my eyes testing for several years. i have been suffering from double vision all this time. one person even laughed. my doctor sent me for a scan when i told her about this, it turns out i had some non cancerous brain tumours, which have now been removed, apparently the main cause of double vision is the sort of tumours that i had .i will go back to boots opticians one more time to give them a telling off then i will find myself a proper optician… Read Full Review

“Really bad service”

Had first appointment and arrived early. Not seen until twenty minutes after appointment time. Apparently could not be seen until the optometrist seeing me arrived. Even though there was another one on the premises. Health assessment interrupted by bringing in another customer and talking loudly so unable to concentrate. I went to boots opticians in Victoria centre Nottingham.This is not my usual opticians.only went because of special offers.After being there for three hrs waiting to have different parts of the test done by different people I was wondering ,how can it take so long?I had to go home then as it was getting late.When I looked at my prescription I saw they had given me the wrong one! “Very Poor Customer Service at Eldon Square Newcastle”

“almost sharp practice”

Had my eyes tested ,chose budget glasses (I am no follower of fashion!)price£70 wanted varifocals,photo chromic added . I got 25% discount (over 65) total £406 with discount £305.50 Paid on c card.! I would like to express my gratitude to Surayya at the Wakefield branch of Boots opticians. I had my eyes tested there but decided to buy glasses online as Boots do not stock the frames I wanted. The glasses gave me headaches so I took them into Boots to see if they were the correct prescription. “Staff with severe training needs”

Performer was rather abrupt and unhelpful and appeared sales orientated rather than eye testing. The assistant that he handed me to was much worse and took no notice of anything I said and was completely disinterested. When I mentioned that this had not been a pleasant experience, again she took no notice. I wrote to manager of branch and received no reply after 4 weeks. Seeing the comments on this site, I don't think many people know that 90% of all the Boots opticians are franchise owned and not a company run shop, this is why there is so many complaints and very poor reviews, my own experience was the same as I did not realise that the poorly run shop in Acocks Green Birmingham the one with the most shocking customer service was run by a franchise, its very concerning that there seems to be so many poor reviews and to why Boots have not addressed this poor… Read Full Review
