“time wasted”

I had an appointment at Boots Opticians in Carmarthen I waited 25 minutes after my appointed time. When I questioned why I had to wait so long, as no one was with the Optician I had seen her go into the staff only room at my appointment time. “New lenses not correct fit to frame”

I recently had an eye test in a Boots branch (Castle Mall) in Norwich which went as you would normally expect. Some time later I took my test results to a Boots branch (Gentleman's Walk)in Norwich. I was assisted to choose the most expensive version of varifocal lenses on the understanding that if I did not like them that a full refund would be made. “Wrong prescription twice from Boots”

I had my eyes tested in June 2014, I was told my prescription had changed dramatically. I choose the frames but was rather rushed by the assistant as they were very busy. Wore my new glasses for two days despite having the visual feeling of the floor falling away. I then found a piece of nylon thread sticking out of the side of the frame so went back, assistant took them upstairs to mend as she had pulled the lense out, when she brought them back she had scratched the lens, she tried to adjust… Read Full Review

“Boots don't care about the health of your eyes”

After a year of error after error I have given up and switched to another optician, only to find out I have eye strain and signs of high cholesterol. Both of these conditions are visible to the trained eye but Boots neglected to tell me. I have been struggling with contact lenses that were not only the wrong prescription but wrong size. Your eye health is too important to get wrong. I wouldn't recommend Boots. My glasses were incorrect also and I rejected them as not fit for purpose… Read Full Review

“Such a waste of time and money.”

I recently dealt with Boots Opticians at Whitgift Center in Croydon. A terrible customer service by any yard. Employees there are arrogant, keeps changing their versions of story. I had got an eye care voucher for eye test from my employer. They were insisting that if I purchase bi-focal then only I will be eligible for eye care voucher for glasses. “Booking couldn't be found- pressured into buying”

I've just returned from an eye test at Boots Opticians Bexleyheath, this is my second routine visit in 2 years, previously prescribed glasses from Specsavers 4 years ago for reading and computer use. “Disgusted”

Why did I take notice of Boots mailshot They certainly lived up to bad service at a cost to me Three times they tried to get my glasses right after my test with them They finally did only for me to go to a New Opticians ( not Boots)to get Glasses that were acceptable Boots after service was full of apologises but no answers on why things went wrong I have told three other friends not to use Boots after my experience Never never again… Read Full Review

“Cataracts”

I am writing on my experience of Boots as an optician for my mother who now in her declining years needs my help., Its the wonderful professionalism given by Boots opticians who have told my mother for 10 years her cataracts 'weren't ready'. Now almost blinded by cloudy vision and despite her protests I enlisted the help of Lloyds opticians. “Is it better or worse. Worse or better ”

Having complained of blurred vision in my new glasses ,I gave them a few weeks went back they booked me a new eye test . Turns out the prescription was blurred . A manager then rang me from store telling me they were changing prescription because I preferred my old one , so I must have found a way of faking an eye test how clever am I . “service not the same”

I have been a customer of Boots opticians Aberdeen for many years and always held them in high regard until now. They give a very good eye test however after care is shocking, staff appear not to be bothered if your glasses are comfy or not, you are left wearing glasses that cause sores on your nose! “Sales push for high priced glasses was awful”

First impressions of the opticians was very good, plenty of staff with efficient process to take details. Optician excellent. The you hit the sales person. I explained I only had about 40 minutes to choose and order. I am not fussy and only compare 3 pairs. The salesperson was not happy with this stating let's have fun and try lots! “Go for the test but not to buy the glasses”

I have been to Boots opticians for an eye test three times now and on every occasion I have to say their appointment availability, standard of equipment and thorough approach to testing (taking photos of the back of the eye amongst other tests) is excellent. Whats more if you take advantage of the online discount voucher the comprehensive eye exam is only £10. “Over Charging”

For example for Zeiss varifocal lenses 1.74 I was quoted the following prices; Boots £490; Iris £395; Haine and Smith £356 (special offer) Most consumers would be interested in saving £146. appointment made , 1st impressions good however after initial test it all went downhill.Did not seem to offer a personal service ( saw 4 different people on my one visit ) was left to my own devices to choose glasses and then recommended to have variours " extras " when i chose my glasses I then had to wait to an attendant to make my purchase, after complaining as to the wait a gut came out with a tut and roll of the eyes .................needless to say i walked with my prescription… Read Full Review
