Had an eye test with boots Blackburn in october & ordered some new specs. £170 in total. The glasses didnt seem right after a week so they did another eye test, corrected my perscription & re ordered my glasses. They came & seemed better. Then a screw fell out, so they replaced it, the screws continued to fall out. I went back several times for them fixing! Not once did I receive any apologies. “awful service basildon town square branch”

ordered my glasses over £300 in febb, went to collect in march and glasses were broken, they said sorry and would contact me, no contact made, so rang basildon store, rang and rang for over an hour, complained to head office, useless, then spoke to manager there who said 2 lines come into store if line 1 busy you are put over to line 2, that the staff in the store cannot hear????? so your being charged while on hold, awful, this was quoted to me by manager there, hence asked for a refund, can… Read Full Review

I had my first eye test at the new opticians in Boots Speke. I was very impressed by the quality and intelligence of the whole procedure. The optometrist was exceptional - nothing was to much to explain and I was delighted with his approach. Choosing frames was relaxed and pleasant. “Terrible optician quiet upsetting”

“Whats the point of a Customer service referance number?”

I contacted Boots customer service with a complaint. They emailed me with a reference number the same day and said they would be in touch within two working days. 5 days later still no response, so I sent a follow up email asking politely for a response. That was on the 10th of January. Guess what still no response. I purchased a pair of reading glasses from their Bletchley store following an eye test. My prescription is a balanced 2.5 in each eye. “Poor, overcrowded service”

Very disappointed with the service in Boots Cornmarket Street, Oxford yesterday. Most staff very well-mannered but unacceptable having four customers (and four staff) in one small room undergoing pre-tests at the same time! How accurate can the tests be under such conditions? After the eye test I was left to choose my new glasses. After 20-30 minutes, undecided and a bit fed up I left the dept without purchasing any glasses! I recently purchased new spectacles from Boots Opticians and have not complaints . Later I decided to purchase some clip on / flip up sun glasses. Well to say I was disappointed with the lady who served me is an understatement. The tests wee carried out thoroughly, with the benefit of my comprehensive records to hand; and the options for the prescribed glasses were explained very clearly. I have been reading a number of "other" reviews, and I feel very sad that so many "appear" to be dissatisfied!! And to me I find it all somewhat mystifying. “Rip off.. glasses free but blue coating £70.. Misleading”

Went to my local boots optician for daughters(age 10) eye check up today. Prescribed new glass as her old one damaged. Glasses are free for kids. Then I got convinced by a optical assistant that the blue coating for £70. She said "This will protect ur child's eye from bad uv lights from iPads and gadgets tv. As she us growing still it can protect". At first I thought it's expensive but then convinced by them. Paid £70.. In mid November I travelled 24 miles round trip to Boots Opticians in Salisbury and made an appointment for an eye test. My name was found on Boots computer but address needed updating. I was given an appointment for yesterday morning and told all my details would be updated then. “Great Service”

I was feeling very scared as i suddenly had floaters in my left eye. I phoned Boots to ask for advice and was told an appointment would probably be for the best and would phone back later that day after speaking to the Optician Staff. I was expecting a week hence but the follow up phone call advised no appointments at the Victoria Centre, Nottingham department but they could see me later that afternoon at the Castle Boulevard Centre. “Didnt need glasses!!!”

My husband went to the boots store in Basildon for routine eye test, was told there was a serious problem with his eyes (he is type 2 diabetic) gave him a letter for the GP for urgent referral to hospital, but they still sold him a pair of £300 varifocal glasses to cut a long story short, after a visit to GP followed by an urgent and lengthy hospital appointment involving a thorough check up and further sight test, nothing wrong with his eyes whatsoever and as for the glasses - he didn't even… Read Full Review

“automated reminder letters”

Both my husband and I have received automated letters from Boots (2 each) over the last few weeks. They are reminding us that out eye test is now due and its almost 2 years since they last saw us. Its actually 18 months since they last saw us and our appointment isn't due until March 2017. I think the letters are a tad early and perhaps February would be a better time to write and remind us.
