“Few highlights in service, product is awful.”

As the headline states there were good points in the customer care offered by the staff. All pleasant, all had a go at addressing the issues of poor lenses. I've paid almost £300 for the frame and lenses and I've had to return them twice. I'll go back next week and ask for a refund because the vision I get is unacceptable. “My poor child”

I took my 5 year old to get his eyes tested to find that they didn't have any free frames that fit his head so I paid for the frames that fitted him and was told to bring him back in 3 months the frame started buckling after 3 weeks so on the 3 month visit I said about the frame and was told they will sort it out and he was referred to the hospital and that was 2 months till his appointment then last week the frame gave up and snapped so took them in to be repaired to be told couldn't be fixed… Read Full Review

“Poor customer service”

At the Victoria branch optician phoned while I was there she would be 30 mins late. Receptionist didn't offer to make a new appointment or call me to make a new one. “waste of good money”

Spent 480 pounds on a pair of varifocals. they are the worst glasses i have ever bought. took them back as i couldnt read or drive with them they tried to correct them but only by adjusting the frame. Conversation a few metres away between staff made it quite plain that they should have been returned earlier and that customers should remember this! “TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE START”

I went with my son today to the Southend high street branch. What a waste of time. Most of the staff were just milling around and I waited 10 minutes at the desk to get the appointment. I then went back with my son and we waited and waited !Finally when we asked why they were 45 minutes late we were told these things happen and there was an emergency !! “I had my sun glasses made at in Banbury, Quay shop”

The lady who attended me, tried her best but I could notice she was not fully trained as she had to ask her peers/supervisor too often. I was not offered the different colours, green or brown shades neither the polarize option which I had in my previous sun glasses and of course, received them the way they were ordered. “Worst opticians experience ever”

The original eye test took 2 hours and I was told to come back for a retest as there was something 'seriously wrong' with my eye sight. The retest revealed that I should have been allowed to keep my glasses on for one of the tests and my eyes were fine. I then ordered 2 pairs of glasses and waited almost 3 months, in which time boots had sent them back to the manufacturers several times because they felt the lenses were no good. “Unprofessional service”

The optometrist was clearly bored and totally lacking in empathy. He said I needed three pairs of glasses - distance, computer work and reading. An assistant suggested varifocals costing about £200. I chose some frames but the assistant decided they were a bad fit and I needed longer arms. They had none in stock. I suggested she looked at Boots online or a catalogue to show me the range. “Waste of time”

Disappointing experience from start to finish. The telephone booking call centre was a sham. led me to believe I had an appointment in a store that don't even do testing. And realised she had incorrectly input data on my address. Challenge was finding out which store test was booked. At the eye test was Told I need glasses for driving (when I need them for close work and reading) Frames had not been ordered when gone to collect them. Will never try Boots Opticians again. I got my eyes tested at Boots Opticians East Kilbride. I felt I was being rushed through even though it was quiet at the time. The assistant told me the standard of varifocal the optician had chosen - he never told me himself. When I got them they were very blurry at the side and out of focus so I took them back to their Braehead store who do the Silhouette frames which I have used for years as they are extremely light and decided upon the distance lenses which I'd had before. Booked in for eye test 3 weeks ago at Bradford eye test and advice excellent,then downhill from there. Called in to choose specs and chosen frames no suitable for my prescription sacrificial. Assistant selected 3/4 pairs suitable and I chose 2. Collected when ready then called in every day fir 10 days as very uncomfortable for adjustments.decided should also test sunglasses too,just needed arms widening and slight nose pad adjustment but assistant damaged lens whilst adjusting. They are quick to advertise the fact that they take a photograph of your optic nerve as part of the examination but ask for a copy of it when something is seen to be wrong and they won't provide it. Having been asked to go back on three different occassions with three different forms of storage device to get a copy (each having to be new out of the packet) and each time having to wait between thirty minutes to an hour to be seen by someone, my patience grew thin. Took my prescription to Boots for buy 1 pair get 1 half price deal. After returning twice to the store as glasses were not fitted properly realised one pair the frame was actually twisted and would never fit correctly- completely missed by the staff ! Pointed the fault out to the staff who told me this fault could be corrected. I told them tnat as they were brand new glasses I did not want them corrected but instead I should have a brand new pair. We changed from another big opticians having been recommended by someone. Good move on our part we have always been treated well and nothing is too much trouble to them. I had an appointment at Boots Opticians in Carmarthen I waited 25 minutes after my appointed time. When I questioned why I had to wait so long, as no one was with the Optician I had seen her go into the staff only room at my appointment time. “New lenses not correct fit to frame”

I recently had an eye test in a Boots branch (Castle Mall) in Norwich which went as you would normally expect. Some time later I took my test results to a Boots branch (Gentleman's Walk)in Norwich. I was assisted to choose the most expensive version of varifocal lenses on the understanding that if I did not like them that a full refund would be made. “Wrong prescription twice from Boots”

I had my eyes tested in June 2014, I was told my prescription had changed dramatically. I choose the frames but was rather rushed by the assistant as they were very busy. Wore my new glasses for two days despite having the visual feeling of the floor falling away.
