I bought this phone one year ago. After the first month, it did not work well so ATT sent me a refurbished one. In one year, I have had 4 of these phones and now need a new phone because the screen is not working properly. It happen a day after the one year warranty.

The Sony Ericsson W580i is one of the best sony ericsson phones around thats smart to look at and use. using m2 memory cards up to 2gig . 1.3 mp camera . bluetooth and mp3 player . no 3g just gprs . this phone is a slide up phone showing the keys when in up postion . you can set the colour lights to flash when text or call is inbound . making it ideal on night time when your sleeping or looking after a baby etc . my phone was on vodafone which the software was great no bugs at all reported . sha ...

I am on a 2 year contract with orange , I have just had it over a year & (by a few days) a month or so before the years warranty, the sony ericsson w580i started to muck up. Everytime i went onto my pictures the screen would go all funny and break, if it didnt play up on the pics it would break everythin else. So i took it back to the shop where i baught it from and they said send it off to the repair. Because it was under a year it would be free bar the p&p. So i sent it off , a week later i go ...

I like the Sony Ericsson W580i alot, i've had it for 2 days. i love the walkman feature, but the shake n shuffle feature and the ftness program don't work, so i have to send it back and get it fixed. i am running vista on my pc, it will not recognise the phone through usb cable, so i had to put music on using bluetooth, which takes forever.camera has no flash, making picture quality not very good unless in good lighting already

Sent Back my Sony Ericsson W580i To Orange And Then Sony Ericsson A Total Of 6 Times, Keys Cracked, When In A Call- Was Fuzzy On Both Ends So Neither Person Could Be Heard, Menu And Answering Phone Call Keys Snapped Off, Phone Was Generally Flimsy... Felt As If The Top Would Snap Off At Any Time. Would Not Reccomend.. Finally Have Replacement From Sony Ericsson... W880i! Still Not Happy, But It Will Do For Now And Is Much Better Than W580i!!

The Sony Ericsson W580i is one specific phone that is compact but yet bursts out with so many features. brilliant mobile phone. it has different colour variations and schemes and is a street wise phone. suitable for the youth mainly, although sadly for my phone it is the buttons which crack. this could be improved in later models.

    Go for it!!!! real entertainer.........

This phone is very stylish but the keys can come off very easy but that is the only bad thing about this phone. It has got a 2 megapixes camera witch is quite good and it is a walkman so it is good for playing music

The screen is great and the music volume is amazingly high but it doesn't loose the quality. The navigation is extremly easy to use. I also looks amazing. I have had this phone for over a year and i havae had no problems.I recommend this phone to people who love playing music on the go and i ok for people who text and call. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone who is looking for a camera phone or browing the web because they are the mayjor let downs of the phone.

On paper it should be a very good phone however in the first few days all the keys cracked, they still worked so I didn't get them repaired until a few months later when the # key stopped working completely, also the battery only lasted a day and the speaker broke, all within 8 months, I got a replacement and again the keys broke and the battery life is worse than the first one I got. Also with the replacement the date keeps changing to 2019 and wont change back to 2009 so the internet wont work ...

Sony Ericsson W580. Good points, nothing, The number buttons cracked, the call buttons fell off. It keeps on saying that the Sim card has come out and it clearly hasn't. The background has frozen with a big delete on it.

Avoid this phone Too Many, keys split, sound has vanished three times, camera doesn't zoom in my experience... no torch (which earlier Sony Erricson model had), two other people I know had same trouble.
Personally really disappointed in everything, therefore I do not recommend Sony Ericsson W580i.

Every now and again my phone sets itself back to basic ring/message tone and I lose the screen saver. I have to turn my phone off and on again to bring them back. And all the keys have cracked only a matter of time before they fall off I expect only had it since Dec. 07. Any ideas?
I do not recommend the Sony Ericsson W580i due to my experience.

I waited months for this phone when it 1st came out. Then dropped it in the dogs water bowl on the 31st day (out of warranty!) I got it mended an it went on for another 12 months with no probs. Having waited months for the Sony Ericsson W580i phone to come out. I then dropped it in the dogs water bowl on the 31st day of ownership! (making it out of warranty) I got it fixed and it was fine for nearly 12months then the keys all started breaking which I got replaced locally. Then the select/back button froze so I sent it back to Sony Ericsson who said it is beyond repair! I have loaned a Motorola and a Samsung in the meantime as I cant find anything I instantly like as I did with the 580. ...

On face value, this is a good phone with lots of features but it's not very durable, is poorly designed and I think the software is a little flaky. Also, like many sony ericssons this phone doesn't have a flash so it's useless at nighttime. I would never buy a sony ericsson again because of my experience with this phone.
