Bad Points: Not quite quick enough between shots.

General comments: What you see through viewfinder is what you see on screen, so can use like conventional camera. Comfortable to hold. Quality of photos excellent, digital zoom photos quite good too.

Canon PowerShot S5 IS is an excellent all round bridge camera with good quality output.

I bought s3 is after reading some reviews on the internet, and the fact that it got 10 out of 10 in one review. This is my first digital camera and i must say i'm very pleased with it, even though it only has 6 megapixels the image quality is amazing to say the least.Being a compact it only has a small sensor so the 6 megapixel seems to work really well, sometimes manufacturers can get a bit carried away with pixel count, but the truth is too much pixels on a small sensor can lead to some noisy pic ...

For a "compact" camera, the Canon PowerShot S5 IS is very good and versatile. Tilt/Swiwel LCD; Good zoom range; Image stabilization; Good grip; Great video performance; Many manual controls; Flash hot shoe. Mediocre wide angle (36mm equiv.); button layout; Buttons lack sensitivity; Mediocre continuous shooting; Ridiculous lens cap

Not going to use Canon again after this experience. Optical Viewfinder is all but useless and cannot be used in sunlight. For many serious photographers, an optical viewfinder is a must.
Difficult to get clear shots on zoom without a tripod.
