Good Points: Excellent image quality, great colour redention, rocker zoom function, internal zoom mechanism, uses AA batteries, very good battery life, good looking, ergonomics, excellent build quality, sturdy grip, good control over noise, top notch video capabilities, full optical zoom during videos, great LCD display, full manual controls.

Bad Points: Auto mode tends to use high ISO, no real image stabilization, occasional very high purple fringing, camera tends to over-expose images slightly resulting burnout in highlight areas, un-common lens 46mm (very difficult to find compatible accessories like lens hood, filters, adapter rings, etc.), bundled software is just for no practical use.

General comments: This is a mid size Super Zoom shooter with all features and controls which are preferred by professionals and enthusiasts alike. Good image quality combined with ease of operation and good looks would certainly make many heads turn towards it. Exceptionally good looking videos with full optical zoom function, earns strong recommendations from people who also prefer videography. The camera offers plethora of features and controls, which similar cameras from other brand (and priced much higher) fail to offer. The low price tag is just like icing on the cake. All this combined with exceptionally good performance makes this camera a real steal. Highly recommended.

Considering the excellent Value For Money, the cons of this camera can be easily over looked. However in needy situations the Cons definately make their presence felt. But similar cons are seen in other cameras too, which are priced more than twice the cost of this little wonder from fuji.

Overall, the Fuji Finepix S5700 is a great camera for those wanting to get into photography but without the cash to.The poor quality SD flap really is a downfall with this camera. It very easily becomes irritating. But the rest of the package easily makes the minor fault not worth considering.

I bought the Fuji FinePix S5700 camera to take on holiday as it is compact and easy to transport. For many years I have been a film SLR user but decided to upgrade to make use of things a film camera cannot do(emails, video clips etc)Obviously it has limitations on wide angle and really long telephoto shots. But all the information on the separate mode settings make it a joy to use.If you are looking for a fairly versatile economic camera I would recommend this highly.

For the price, you can't help but be impressed and glad you parted with your hard earned cash and got real value for money. It seems to do all it says on the box, comes with an easy to use manual and takes quality pictures in all areas of use. It takes 4 AA batteries which certainly last a long time and has a great zoom capacity taking lovely clear, sharp close-ups. If you've got a tight budget and want value for money then do yourself a favour and buy it, you won't be disappointed. If lik ...

I have had this camera now for around 6 months and am very happy with it, the picture quality is good for the price, it has lots of auto functions that seem to do what they say they will and you still get all the manual too. The zoom is large and the macro is very good..... what do you want for 130.

This camera is a reliable, easy to use, flexible unit which works well in every mode. In particular is the excellent Fuji low light cabablity. This enables really good results in situations where flash is needed.
