“Leica are famous for making stunning lenses and they...”

★★★★★

Leica are famous for making stunning lenses and they chose Panasonic to make their camera around the lens for Panasonic's reputation for quality electronics.
It was a perfect marriage.
This camera fits between the 'point and shoot' cheap camera and the heavyweight digital SLRs.
Buy one and you won't be disappointed.
The latest incarnation, the TZ5, has a few more pixels and is marginally better all round.

The 10X zoom rocks on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. Pictures are as good as a camera in this price range could be. Video recording works well and is easy to use. Battery life is great. Though taking a picture is very easy, there are a lot of controls and I can't remember what most of them do. Often when I am out using it, I think that I need to spend an hour with the instructions again. This is a minor point because everything that I want actually want to do is really easy. I love this camera. I recommend it highly.

It is rumoured that the components used in this camera are identical to Leica cameras and only the body and software are different.

One thing about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. It is simply the best of the super zoom alternatives out there.
