Wrong colour sofa ordered and faulty. After having an upholsterer (from scs) do a report and numerous phone calls to head office 3weeks later they told us they are not willing to do anything about it even said it was my word against the sales person as he wrote the wrong colour on the order Now I'm onto trading standards I want a full refund they can stick it where the sun Doesn't shine Once the paperwork was signed in store they didn't want to know. “fabricguard protection for sofas”

My friend and I bought Gplan sofas and chairs and were adamant that we wanted them treated for stains etc. We paid £250 and £300 for what we were told was a treatment Fabricguard, plus a five year insurance to put right any accidental damage and any structural defects which may occur. I forgot to add that the first sofas which were delivered were the wrong ones, entirely the wrong fabric. The arm protectors which I ordered at a cost of £60 per set were also missing. SCS said that I hadn't ordered any and I needed to pre-order. They were now £160 per pair. I refused to pay for them due to the inconvenience they had caused and they agreed.

i think that if I had read all these reviews before placing an order with SCS I might well have been put off, but I can honestly say that I experienced no problems whatsoever. Yes, the salesman did try to persuade me to purchase the 'cleaning aftercare', but I was expecting this and just politely and firmly said no thanks and he certainly didn't push me on it. This is the 3 rd sofa I have bought from SCS no problems had last one14 yrs Past on to daughter. When I bought this I asked 3 times if it was leather was told yes. Hi, I had the worst ever experience , I could ever had with SCS after visiting their shop at beckton , I decided to order 2 six seater sofas , laminate and carpet for my house. I was told carpet will take 2 weeks but laminate will be delivered with in a week . After 6 weeks our g plan chair recliner tipped up, toppling ontop of my 3 year old grandson, a week later the settee side seat collapsed, and end recliner stopped working, engineer came out and said the furniture is faulty and would be replaced, on his report, he entered a additional line saying we have abused the furniture. I can't understand why previously 'reputable' manufacturers, their names synonymous with quality allow themselves to be dragged down by a company such as SCS. It is trashing their reputation, there link alone with SCS will make me avoid them like the plague

“Poor quality of material”

We bought a suite from SCS in November 2011 and nearly fours years on it's a worse state that the one we'd replaced this with and that was 10 years old at the time. We were told this was the best leather avaialble and that the colour wasn't just on the top (as other companies did, one example being DFS who we'd bought the previous sofa from). I have mentioned many times in my comments, this is the way they are trained. They are nothing short of abusive lying bullies. I am clearly not spreading my message loud enough, my own nephew has just visited the Grimsby branch and spent £3500 on a suite I know he will regret. I will have to make an even more concerted effort to let all family and friends know how this company operate. I am determined to spread the message as far afield as possible in order that no one has to experience what I did, when I had to pay £ 550 for NOTHING , just to stop their vile threats and abusive behaviour causing stress to my wife.

Disgusted with Scs .I have been waiting for 7 months for my Lazyboy suite to be repaired .Keep getting fobbed off with excuses about parts not being available .i was assured repairs would be finalised in July .Technicion came with the wrong parts .Reassured parts would be in and suite fixed by 1st October I called scs again ,Have now been told parts will be available in November but they cannot guarantee this .anyone thinking of buying from this company think again .Go to reliable company… Read Full Review

Agreed a price for carpet, subject to survey, informed then that the carpet would need a join due to size of room, and gave them sizes, surveyor came and the price increases by £111. Fine payed balance and paid in full, saw on invoice fitting was extra, no mention of this £96 extra anywhere by anyone, only saw it when they gave me receipt. They tefunded this amount. The way they treat there delievery staff is disgraceful have them out for 12hours+ a day and still if they haven't done there job they can't come back so they are doing 15hour work day and back in the next day at 6am which I can say that's illegall! , They've had many managers that still leave as they can't handle the job , this company and the head people seriously needs to look at how much hard work the workers put into there job carrying heavy sofas 12hours a day and how they treat them… Read Full Review

We ordered a sofa in august on the understanding that it could be delivered on a Saturday due to work commitments. After checking twice with the salesman, we went ahead with the order. Why do we all have to learn like this? SCS are by far the most unscrupulous, rude, arrogant company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. My experience in the Grimsby store left me astonished, in this day and age, that they are getting away with treating their customers with such downright utter contempt. Everybody, from the Manager, salesman and the lady working in the office lied through their teeth to get a sale . They are despicable people, trained to mislead , mis-sell and lie to customers, I am absolutely convinced of this fact. They only survive by the ridiculous offers they advertise, peddling their shoddy goods with unrealistic finance offers to those that cannot afford to pay otherwise. They are vultures who, when they have got you hooked by their smiles and their lies, treat you with such contempt. I hope they rot in hell when people eventually get wise to them.

Really pleased with SCS at kingsway derby, ordered x2 sofas at the beginning of August. Told Expected delivery date could be between 4-6 weeks, received a phone call a week after ordering with a delivery within a few days. Delivery guys were really professional, didn't knock anything about and New sofas delivered unmarked.
