“Not very comfy”

We purchased our standard back 4 seater sofa a couple of years ago now. We initially had a problem with the back cushions getting out of shape. SCS sent someone out who filled the cushions with more filler. This remedied the situation for a while but it has since returned. We paid extra for foam seats, I only wish this option was available for the back cushions as the sofa looks mishapen and is terribly uncomfortable. Purchased a 2/3 seater sofa lazy boy celebration was told it was good for lumber support as hubby suffers from spondylitis wanted a comfy sofa for him to relax at night however the 3 seater recliner was very soft and offered no support at all after multi phone calls telling me there's nothing they can do went to store and manager said he would swap for the 2 seater great I thought after 9 weeks of waiting for new 2 seater arrives and the trim is a totally different colour rang customer service… Read Full Review

Purchased a sofa bed in Nov 2015 also bought extra cover (not worth the paper it's written on) Delivered on time but noticed a small tear in fabric.Unfortunately didn't notice it within72hrs so SCS say not there issue but the extra cover providers. We visited the Norwich store and a large sign stated 1 year no payment until 2017 then four years 0% free credit on sofas, no mention of a deposit, but when it came to agreeing the puchase they changed the deal saying it was no longer available! Interestingly the sign is still up saying start to pay in 2017 & it is interest free for four years but the staff then said a deposit was due which we were happy to pay but if the deal advised on the sign couldn't be honoured we would go elsewhere! I have just had my three piece suite delivered and they took it back as they couldn't get the sofa through my door? My last suite was far larger and was taken out fine. They were not willing to wait five minutes whilst my husband came home to see for himself. As a result we have now been informed it will cost us a further 160 pounds for redelivery. Ordered suite the end of August 2015 (salesman was very uninterested and I felt hurried) Wrong suite delivered from Kingsway Store Derby ( you should have been paying attention salesman )- still waiting for my replacement. Ordered sofa Nov 15 delivery promised before Xmas. Paid in full £1500. " weeks later ooops we gave you the wrong date will not be here until just after New Year. We ordered the sofa and was told that it would only take 6 weeks to arrive. The sales man was very sure of it, so we arranged a big family meal and needless to say the sofa didn't arrive within the 6 weeks. When we called scs to see when we were expecting delivery I was told a date so arraigned time off work. “Worst Quality that I have ever seen”

I wish I had come across this site before I bought my sofa. The sofa is of very poor quality with the arm rests and seats sagging after less that one month. When the engineers were called we were told this is normal and that the arm rests were not to be used for putting any weight on and weren't to be used as an arm rest!! SCS will not be having a sale this week. You know you will never see this. Quality&service bad. But think about this. They always have a sale. Big prices reduced. Or are the sale prices the real prices. RRP's on all products well over the top. But all sales you see in every business if they can afford to sell at sale price and still make a profit. Absolutely terrible quality. The sofas did arrive on time but after a week the top of the arms were going square and sagging. Requested them to come fix it. They arrived on time, ripped the bottom off, had a look and told me that this is what happens, then staples the bottom covering back on. This is what happens? what ? After a week?? The reviews on here are shocking and with good reason. I wish I'd seen them earlier. I was warned by a neighbour, but a carpet is just a carpet, and how bad can service really be? Well if the Manager can't get it right then there truly is little hope. I paid a deposit for a carpet. They came and measured my stairs and hall and told me that the carpet size available meant that I would be paying for much more carpet than I actually needed so effectively I would be paying almost double. Having a very bad experience with another retailer I called in at scs to ask why certain things had happened to my sofa so I didn't have the same thing happen again . I very rarely write a review however I just had to share this. We ordered a sofa (costing around £2,500) and specifically ordered a material and colour that they told us we could get in time for Christmas. We agreed, paid the deposit and signed the paperwork, being advised of a delivery date of 4th Dec. It never turned up, on chasing this up I was told it may be here by 18th Dec, furious I emailed a full complaint to the store which I have still had no reply to.
