I first saw the VXR8 at the Milbrook testing ground and immediaetly fell in love with it. It ticked all the boxes for me.. A 4 dr spacious muscle car, capable of sitting three people across the back , combined with a cav ernous boot space and the overall appearance of a wrestler called 'Big Daddy'....massive, unrefined yet controllable and loveable...In december 07 i took delivery of a ex demo low mileage auto transmission car from Now Vauxhall at Heathrow.(Another story unfolds here relating to poor practice) and I was over the moon to experience supercar performance on a budget. After 3000 miles the rear brake pads went metal 2 metal despite being told it had a full service..thank yo Now Vauxhall) and i was presented with an invoice for repair totalling £4300..yes you read correctly £4300.which i argued and successfully won a warranty claim.
A short time later, seperate visits to the garage started for the following, washer bottle split, inner wheel linings came adrift, new battery (£400) new autobox (£7000) new front discs and pads (another arguement £3500) carpet adrift, new front pulleys (3) and so the list goes on. However the joys of this car outweighed my inconvienince and as it was all warranty claim i endured this because the car is the most exciting car i have ever driven.
The finish may be as rough, the aftersales from Network Q may be limited but the drive and performance of this car is endless enjoyment.
The car may have the thirst and drinking capability of the late Oliver Reed, but is the best fun Ive had in ages and I wouldnt hesitate to buy another

Good looks, very spacious and performance to out-do even the BMW M5!
