Have purchased nine windows, side door, patio doors and garage door from Weatherseal and the garage door stopped working. I had to send a cheque for £90 in order to get an engineer to look at it. He was unable to fix it as it was a faulty box and that had to be replaced at cost to me of £276 even though it is still under the 10 year guarantee period. I was more than happy with Weatherseal products hence the reason I purchased all my windows and doors from them and at no time did I... (read more)

My Mother/Father who are in their 80s recently had weatherseal in to install windows. My mother had £150 sitting in a drawer in her bedroom which she had taken out for shopping. She had went to get the money later that night to find it was gone. She has no proof that the workers stole this, but there was no other explaination for this. I would not trust this company now or their staff in my house. So please be careful if you have already chosen them to install windows. (read more)

I had a call yesterday from this mob. They call you and say they are a local company but don't say who they are. They ask you how old your windows are and if you are going to replace them will it be one at a time or all at once. They take your name and say someone will call you back. They phoned within five minutes and seven other times. I did not answer, just dial led 1471 so I knew that it was them. We have been out all day and within half an hour of getting in we got the call. The visit was all of the reviews rolled into one: Based on a £500 government scrappage scheme discount - which doesn't exist. Had to take 2 items minimum, a front door did not meet their criteria. 10 0/0 discount to sign up to their payment plan. But the best part was the price. £3500 for a door and small window when the most expensive quote before that was £420 for the door! £3100 for a small window? No, because the door is £1700. My elderly parents, both in the early stages of dementia, were approached by a salesman from Weatherseal and I had no idea what had been going on until I visited them at their home in Berkshire and saw the awful mess that had been made of the front windows. It's true the old ones needed replacing but not with something so ugly and unsuited to the architectural style of the house. Very interesting. It sounds as though the finance wasn't explained properly to you. I am sure the £10,000 + interest would only have been payable had you taken 10 years to pay off the loan. Because the interest on this type of loan is payable on the outstanding balance, you would only have paid a small amount of interest if you paid the loan off within 1 year!
