We stayed at Risley Hall for one night, Saturday 7 February prior to a function for which we'd requested, in advance, that reception book a taxi for us to the venue. On arrival, the taxi departure time was incorrect on the hotel's booking information. Fair enough, it was changed on request however, when the taxi arrived later, the destination booked by the hotel was completely wrong! In between, we booked in to what can only be described as the most drab hotel we've ever stayed in: in both the public rooms and the bedroom we encountered cold temperatures (bathroom radiator didn't work at all),peeling paint and wallpaper, stained upholstery, broken furniture, a cracked sink, broken tiles - I could go on! Breakfast was, thankfully, very acceptable. Before booking, I should have done more research on independent customer reviews. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.
