    Bad Points: It's two hours drive from my house which makes it difficult to go there every week!


    General comments: We loved everything about The Bay Restaurant, Ambleside. The decor was great, the staff were polite, welcoming and professional. I did not even mind the fact that the Maitre D was a Doncaster Rovers fan! The food was straight out of Masterchef and whilst the meal (starters, mains, side dishes, puddings and bottle of wine) came to £85 I was pleased to pay it as it was, quite simply, the best meal we have ever had.

    A Yorkshireman paying £85 for food? Must be good!
