Two years ago I bought a Compaq Presario CQ61 403SA laptop from Hewlett Packard, 3 weeks ago the screen failed to come on, as I am pretty technically minded and competent with computers I did all the necessary checks and the only thing I thought it could be was the inverter. With that in mind I bought the part myself fit it but the screen still did not come back on, that is when I decided to email Hewlett Packard and exercise my Consumer rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. About 3... (read more)

wanted to buy a couple of computers for work and was recommended HP by our IT specialist. Having contacted HP a number of times their sales department is just absolutely terrible. No information forthcoming. No interest in trying to sell. Have tried to complain but as I didn't have a serial number the complaint couldn't be logged. Have e-mailed their executive team anly received an automated response that someone would get back to me. This is now 1 1/2 month ago and not a word. Have since... (read more)

I bought a Hewlett Packard notebook and I have regretted it ever since. I deliberately spent a decent amount of money on it to try and ensure that I had a quality product. The one that I picked was a DV51110EM, which has a blue-ray DVD player. If I had rated this when I first purchased it I would have given it a good rating. It looks very nice and was easy to set up.
However, less than a year on it is unusable. It appears to be poorly made as more and more things just keep going wrong...

Think of a very very long bargepole. Got it? A bargepole that would take a family of 5 all of their combined strength to lift from one end. Now double it. It's massive, right? OK now with that bargepole, if you could even touch one product from Hewlett Packard then my advice is do not. The products are sh*te and their after sales service are sh*te also. So there you are. You have been suitably advised.
Cheers. Bill. Have a Merry Christmas.

I must start by saying that I am writing this from the viewpoint of someone who works in IT and is dealing with business machines and servers.
I have supported HP machine for over 10 years now back when they were Compaq. I have had mixed feelings about there equipment over the years. At first I hated them as they used non standard parts, then I loved them when there EP range used standard chassis and were very upgradable. They have reverted back to their old style now with lots of non...

I just bought a brand new Hewlett Packard laptop. The screen on the one I bought malfunctioned within 2 weeks of use. I'm sitting here 4 weeks later with still no laptop - while it's been sitting with them for repair. I had a dell for years and never any significant issue and good support from them when needed. The service from HP is about the worst I've come across in relation to any big company. (read more)
