Good Points: Ultra-wide angle 23mm dual lens 7MP design offers the widest angle lens in a ultra compact camera.
Bad Points: Very poor battery life, slow response time of powering up and after pressing the exposure button, very high compression of image storage, distortion of images, limited custom settings.
General comments: It's a camera worthy of consideration even though I marked this not recommended with all its flaws. The reason being is that if you want an ultra-wide lens and don't wish to go for a digital SLR, this is an option. It's also a fun camera, handy to use, easily slipped into my pocket and easy to pull out and use. But you need to carry spare batteries due to its poorly designed short battery life. The compression for storage of the images is very high so the quality suffers, the lens quality also makes the image distorted when the subject is fairly close to the lens. I have a Canon DSLR 400D XTi with the 10-22mm ultra wide zoom lens which is superior in image quality, very fast response, but it's considerably more expensive and very bulky in comparison. The V705 is very easy to carry and no one would know you ever have a camera till you take it out to use.
