For 10 weeks I could not phone out. Had to use my PasYG mobile. Sent many emails, eventualy recieved one back, I was given a case number, this was not followed up. I did get an email that said my account was ready to view, this took me to a page that required a user name and password, as I had not ever set one up I could not access. Swapped to primus first call as recommended by money saving expert...The quote was never met instead the bills were actually double of that quoted....Tried contacting primus by email, phone and finally snail mail. This has to be the worse telecom experience I have ever had. Both phone and internet service cut off for weeks on 3 occasions in a single year. No apology offered or refund, customer service is none existent. Bills also incorrect almost every month, only way to get a response is to cancel direct debits, but then only months later. If like me you're seeing great prices, stop there! I joined with no problems but then my first bill arrived at £17.52 (I was on the £7.99) deal. I couldn't get through to customer service (emailing or phoning) and my bills ended up being over £20. There was no information or communication as to why my bills had shot up! Primus are not to be trusted, they sign you up for a contract at an agreed price then put the price up, so far twice in 7 months! complain and you are met with no response till you keep e/mailing them, then dont answer the problem properly and drag their feet for ages and finaly tell you you should have cancelled immediately too late now (in other words pay up or shut up) avoid primus like th plague better to pay a little more to another provider than put up with rubbish service and hassle. Just had a "one-off charge" on monthly bill on my Primus 'Saver' account of over £50. This is for going over my 20GB limit. My own fault but I might have reasonably expected: 1. a warning email from Primus about reaching allowance limit? NOPE 2. a way of checking my usage online? Stay far away from Primus. My mother is VERY elderly but living in her own home. The phone is essential to her. One day she could not call my cell phone. Access denied. Primus had cancelled her account without warning or reason. The internet page did not show a problem. We have accounts for two households and pay both at the same time. Our account was fine. I'd switched to them just just over a year ago, after some bad experiences, I decided to switch back to BT as soon as my contract was up. My advice to anyone wanting to switch is 1) Find out your contract end date and give required notice by email (1 year contract and 1 month notice in my case). Primus seem to have no customer service. I have had no service since early March. Initial calls to customer services took 35-40 minutes for someone to answer. The people I spoke to couldn't help so I asked to speak to a manager. I was told I'd be called back. Well, it's been over a month & no one has called yet, I've had no answer to my past 4 emails. I have been hunting for a low overhead, no frills Broadband supplier for my Mum who has only just mastered a keyboard and email to keep in touch with friends around the world. She's in her seventies so doesn't need any bells and whistles or hassle. Iam I glad I found this site before inflicting what appears to be the worst ADSL supplier in the UK by all accounts on her. Appalling customer service by Primus. After my housemate moved out in June last year, I attempted to move the primus account to my name... what a joke! Any problems with this company Primus/New Call - whatever they want to call themselves - complain to the telecommunications ombudsman. You will never get anywhere trying to sort out the problem with Primus/New Call directly. I sent them dozens of emails and spent fortunes on mobile telephone calls trying to get my landline working. They are without doubt the most inefficient company I have ever tried to deal with. If you have a direct debit with this company and they are not providing the service you are paying them for then cancel the direct debit and move to another provider. Primus have a catch of overcharging customers I was overcharged from the day I signed up. And its only 3 months, I cannot cancel the contract! Their customer service is terrible. They are very slow replying to your emails. They do not issue online access account details automatically, so that they can take money from your bank through direct debit. I have recently signed up, the broadband is used by a house I rent out to 7 professionals, for Jan and Feb 13 they rekon this lot have raked up 500GB of data and seem to think this is just "normal" use!! I now have a bill of £1000!

I had the unfortunate experience of being an account holder with this telecom supplier for 2years. During this time I experience slower than dial-up speeds, and multiple issues relating to conectivity, to which their solution was to 'upgrade my service'. Do not switch to this company. Recently switched from BT to Primus (NewCall) had no problems with BT used for many years. I thought that things could only get better after leaving a very unhappy experience with talktalk in the past. Signed up to a cheap line deal and switched from BT - Everything transfered over on News Years Eve without problem. Didn't get the emails about the account details, but not too bothered as the lass I spoke to helped me out. 25 mins on hold and a friendly english girl is better then the usual BT service of 20 mins on hold followed by 2 or 3 people with indian accents trying to understand what they are saying. Why no good? Simple. If you go over the 10gb limit or whatever package u have they charge £2 a gb.
