    Good Points: It's in Woburn and Woburn is nice.


    General comments: My Fiance and I went visited The Black Horse in Woburn on 13/02/09.
    All our previous birthday celebrations had been held there and the food and service had previously been impeccable. You paid for beautiful dishes with of excellent quality, taste and presentation.

    On this day it took us 1 hour and 10 minutes to be served with our main course. We did not order a starter. I ordered chicken breast served with sauteed potatoes and spinach in a mushroom sauce. When my dish arrived it looked awful. A plain white lump of chicken placed on top of quartered boiled potatoes that were very hard because they were undercooked. It was inedible. Some of the potatoes had huge black bits in. The portion size was very small. I sent my meal back to the kitchen to be replaced with a burger. It was like a children's portion. Again, undercooked oven chips and a barely there salad.
    We left when we realised no-one was going to bother if we wanted dessert. As a gesture of goodwill the manager gave us £5.00 off. I was so upset as it ruined our romantic evening meal out that I wrote to the manager. He didn't reply.

    I was very impressed by the old and new style of The Black Horse in WOburn. The menu had a wide choice of dishes which were presented well and tasted even better. Definitely my favourite place to go now. Always consistent.
