Seeing The Dark Knight was definitely a good evening out at the cinema and I would definitely recommend this film to a friend, but despite the amazing performance by Heath Ledger as the joker, the film didn't live upto its expectations and this has to be down solely to he lousy script writers. I found the plot to be also laughable in places. Bits were either far too obvious or just simply didn't add up. It was not as good as Batman Begins. Bale was pretty impressive in the first one, but in this ...- Read steveyq's review (138 words)

Best Film 2008: The Dark Knight, Best Director: Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight, Best Actor: Heath Ledger, The Joker, The Dark Knight.
Well, those will be the Oscar results if there's any justice. The Superhero has always been a huge genre in the film world, and The Dark Knight sets the bar way way high. I would like to begin this review by talking about Christopher Nolan. Batman and Batman returns were good movies. Then what followed were Jim Carey, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman ...- Read dferry08's review (370 words and 1 comment)

This wasnt like a "batman" film, it was scarier than other batman series films (ive been told), and is more like a thriller film....very action packed and 5 star movie - would recommend- Read Guest's review (56 words)

The old clich . Does the end justify the means? May Batman kill for the greater good? How far may the good man go in eradicating evil?
Easy answer: Bruce could have got himself elected, had a public mandate to stamp out wrong doing, got the girl and not had to engage in lengthy angst about his crusade. Simply don't know why he didn't think of it!
Ledge was hypnotic at first but hard to sustain the act over 2 and a half hours.
Caine was Caine.
Morgan Freeman was - yep, you guessed it. And by th ...- Read cricketyminx's review (175 words)

I'm a self confessed Batman hater. I went to this film having refused to watch a Batman flick before and I only watched it because of Heath Ledgers appearance as the Joker.
I'm now converted...
The Dark Knight is jam packed with action, adventure and anarchy, courtesy of the iconic Joker.
The limelight is on the recently deceased Heath Ledger who doesn't fail to impress as Batman's arch enemy. This is a must see movie for everyone- don't miss it.- Read toniiLou's review (80 words)

I rarely go to the Cinema these days but feel I may have to go and see this again as It was so enjoyable. Whilst being billed as an action flick Batman The Dark Knight has many other qualities and would please most people who like a good modern film. There is a great amount of philosophy embedded in the movie which is quite subtle, this was a pleasant surprise.Aaron Eckhart (Two Face) Gary Oldman (Lt Gordan) and Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) we also oustanding and perfectly cast in their respectiv ...- Read rantomon's review (153 words)

The Dark Knight has certainly and slightly morbidly benefited from Heath Ledgers death, people have a fascination with seeing a posthumous performance and with one as sophisticated and mesmerising as Ledgers it is easy to see why. As such the film has been hyped for weeks before it's release date and as I went to watch at the Imax on the 25th of July I was turned away as it had been sold out all day. Yet as I moved to a normal screening I couldn't help feeling that what is essentially a pseudo ...- Read Quibbon101's review (398 words)

This film was ok, I thought the action was mediocre and batman was boring but Heath Ledger was brilliant and the Joker alone made it worth paying the admission fee.- Read Guest's review (30 words)

The Dark Knight should not only be looked upon as a great superhero movie, but an amazing stand-alone film. This is art, a masterpiece of cinematic beauty. The Cast was fantastic, especially the legendary Heath Ledger. Not meaning to agree with every review out there, Heath couldn't have had a better final performance, with his portrayal of the joker being overwhelmingly fantastic. The problem with his joker, is that a man who does so many evil things should be hated, but you couldn't help but l ...- Read Guest's review (132 words and 1 comment)

If ever a movie lived up to all the hype surrounding it, The Dark Knight is the one. You start off with a great story, throw in a great cast of actors, add a lot of adrenalin inducing action and you've got one heck of a great movie experience. Heath Ledger gives an outstanding performance as The Joker, one of the most psychotic movie villains of all time. Reprising their roles from "Batman Begins" you have Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/The Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred, Bruce Wayne's/Batman's ...- Read Bozinator's review (240 words)
