This was the best meal I had eaten for a while and definately the best monkfish in 10,000 miles. The food was excellent and the seafood was comparable with my favourite restaurant in san francisco. Will return sooner rather than later. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, atmospere was relaxed. They didn't mind our well behaved 11 year old son, or my wife haveing a starter for her main course very attentive. Don't miss out on this little gem although i would recommend that you book in advance as people are turned away as it is so sought after.
Well done and keep up the good work.

We had read reviews of the Seahorse prior to our weekend in Llandudno and upon their advice booked a table. Now it has to be said before i continue that we have travelled to many countries and eaten in many restaurants and have as a result discovered that most are actually of very average standard, not so with the Seahorse. Firstly we were welcomed by a very pleasant older chap who not only made us extremely welcome but knew the menu and the wine and was both attentive and discrete at the same t ...

Althought the food was very good at the Seahorse Seafood Bistro and Restaurant, my partner and I found the service shocking. We chose to eat downstairs and at 18.00 it wasn't busy at all. We were ushered into a cramped corner and watched as the front of house manager and other staff interacting with couples and families as they started to come in. The proprioter would talk about the specials and make reccomendations to other guests.

As the family beside us started to order, they were requesti ...

    Great meal!

While on a short trip finding details for our family tree we arrived in Llandudno. Before we found an hotel, we looked for a place to eat or we would drive home to Stockport. Within minutes we had read the outside menu for 'The Seahorse' (people in at 17.30). The word 'scallops' made the decision.

A friendly greeting, finding a table in the Bistro, and the waiter being attentive made us think that we had made the right choice.

Mild goats cheese with berries and nuts, Thai beef w ...

We ate at this restaurant last evening and had the most fantastic meal. I chose thai fish cakes followed by Pan-fried Gressingham duck breast served with a sweet Thai orange and honey red curry sauce and my husband chose Scallops in a thermidor sauce followed by Griled Sea Bass with Garlic Butter and Prawns. Even though we were both full after the first two courses we just had to have a sweets of Creamy mascarpone cheesecake finished with fresh strawberries and a soft centred meringue gateau ...

We happened upon this restaurant when we followed a gaggle of wiener dogs down a set of stairs. We were charmed by the lovely room, and the excellent meal we had. We plan to return for a second night. We heartily recommend the mussels appetizer; absolute heaven. Our entrees were a bit heavy with sauce for our taste (swordfish and haddock), but we plan to order more wisely tonight. The side of vegetables was delicious, and the desserts were flawless. As others have noted, there was no hint at ...

The place was buzzing and very busy but everything was well cooked and presented, the staff were all nice as well. Very informal and yet well organised. Enjoyed chatting to the Chef when service was over.

We were a party of three who ate at this restaurant last Sunday night. It was fantastic. Our starters were the vietnamese fish cakes, mussels in a cream sauce and fish terrine. For main courses we opted for Turbot in a tarragon butter, monkfish wrapped in pancetta and a locally caught lobster. Absolutely terrific and the owner took the time to come and chat at the end of service. The fresh vegetables that accompany the main courses are also great.

Just returned from a weekend in Llanudno. Went to the Seahorse last night (Saturday) and had the most amazing meal we've had in a long time! I enjoyed some gorgeous mussels to start, followed by the seabass, which was cooked to perfection. We both thoroughly enjoyed the night - the waitresses were lovely, there was no rush, the food was excellent, and at the end of it all the chef came out to say hello and check we'd enjoyed our food. Overall it was fantastic - we will definitely be going back ...
