If i could afford it, I would rather buy a Sony or Panasonic. the picture is ok but sound is very poor, even at full bass it sounds tinny

Good budget buy but shop around - Sainsbury are expensive in comparison to most.

In this price bracket and size of lcd you need to prioritize and compromise. Go for the LG 19LS4R if your priority is picture quality.

Sound on the LG 19LS4R can be described as "tinny"? Contacted LG customer help desk who responded with "There have been some isolated cases of this issue with this model due to bad wiring in the speakers. It is classed as a fault and is covered under warranty." TV returned to supplier full refund obtained.

Excelent picture quality on the scart but not to good via the RF aerial. Sound is really poor, very tinny sounds awfal. when connected to my sky box it has this problem with the colour and refresh, it seems to need to set its self up again every time i change channel on sky, this causes a delay. as posted above it seems to be a common fault. Overall the LG 19LS4R would make a great pc monitor, but as im using as a bedroom tv these issues are not acceptable and for £200 it is being returned ...

Only downside for me was the sound quality, but thats not really a problem for me as I can just connect up an external sound system and I think that this product is not really designed to be used for anything other than a cheap, high quality HD games console TV or blurry player for say a bedroom. Would highly recommend this over any other TV this size at the moment.

I replaced my LG 19LS4R within 2 weeks with a Sony Bravia, this TV is relegated to another room despite being almost brand new.
The LG had an awful tinny sound - I had to connect external speakers to make it bearable.. I found that it flickers and colour flashes on the SKY Scart connection (it might be my SKY box but is works fine with every other TV I have - I took the original LG TV back but have the same problem with both - however the Scart works fine with DVD and VCR players).

A good product ruined by cheap, tiny sound. The sound quality is truly awful. There is not much difference between the various pre-sets or your own user setting, and all are poor - tinny, echo, thin, cheap, very bad. Sounds like a poor radio from the 1950s. In fact, its a return to Comet job....

If you, as I do, have viewing and listening apart, this is a nice panel for both very close and small-room television.

I will be taking this LG 19LS4R back to Comet for a new model. Although the picture is good the sound is awful, however not sure if this my particular set or generally for this model.

I bought this LG 19LS4R on-line and took a bit of a chance since there were no user reviews. I reckoned that since I have other LG products in the home which have been faultless, then this was worth the risk - especially at under £200!

I was not disappointed and had the thing set up within a few minutes. The manual was enormous, covering a multitude of languages, but was quite useless. On the bright side, there is a CD ROM which is very well structured covering every conceivable thing o ...
