I got a new iphone 5. Gave my not so old iphone4g to my wife. Took out a new cotract for her so that her old PAYG number could be ported over. 3 phone calls later and 1 week later and it STILL isn't sorted. What a shower. 1 "adviser" tells you 1 thing, the next promises something else, and the next promises something else. Absolute shower who don't know what they are doing. Why do I have to give my number to log in and the first thing they ask you is your number. Spent hours on the phone... (read more)

I have been with o2 business for over 7 years, as a self employed person (sole trader) small business holder, o2 was perfect to handle all communications for my business. 2 mobile phones, a landline, broadband and an internet stick, Perfect! I wont go in to the detail of what i've had to endure with this company, but i can tell you its very basic things going wrong through human error on their part (they agreed with this) and very little back for compensation. The time and effort to call, explain and then try to resolve; hours of phone calls going through the same thing being passed from department to person to manager. In short, they sent me a new phone because the other one didn't work - of course, they reluctantly did this as... (read more)

Looks to be loads of very unhappy O2 customers out there. I am with Virgin for my TV/Phone/BB and although I do have to call them with queries from time to time, I get very good customer service (after getting through, clicking 1-2-3-4-----1-2-3---etc, but this is the same with all these companies from what I understand. Although you get through to someone in the Philipines they are always very polite, appear very knowledgeable, and very helpful.
Anyway, 2 months ago my SIM only mobile phone deal was 600 minutes, 5000 texts, 3000 Virgin to Virgin calls and 1GB of data all for £5.00 per month SIM only, Someone fron Virgin rang me last month to ask if all was well, and asked if he could recommend a better deal! I said I don,t think you can beat what I already have, but he insisted that h go ahead and try, To cut a long story short, I am now on 4 months free and 8 months at £5.00.
To top this, I recently got an iPad, and the package was £10.22 for 1GB data. This was offered to me for £5.11 per month, which I accepted.
So Virgin are definitely worth a try.

Don't reply to those premium rate messages and don't whine if then you get charges via your phone provider. Some people legitimately use those services and your phone provider can't be responsible for your mistakes. If you used your debit card to buy something dodgy like acai berry online and got charged lots of expensive recurring charges you wouldn't call up and complain to your debit card provider/bank with the same sense of entitlement. If your phone provider was nice enough to offer to pay for your mistake themselves by covering those charges then that is good, if they didn't follow through then maybe you should investigate further and keep records of who you spoke to.
