Good Points: Very powerful and wide ranging options
Bad Points: Some of the procedures are not very intuitive
General comments: Many keen photographers will naturally be drawn to Adobe Photoshop but Paint Shop Pro for me is a serious rival for a lot less money. Version 10 follows on the traditions of the excellent Jasc software that went before it. Version 11 is now available but I have not tried the upgrade yet.
Most digital camera owners will have used either the software that was provided with their camera or tried some of the free downloads like the excellent Picasa from Google and have found it adequate. But once you get the photo bug and also start to scan old photos and slides you will need something more powerful. Paint Shop Pro provides all of the tools (and more) that you will probably ever need to enhance, beautify or correct your images. The one stop photo fix will revive photos that you thought were dead.
Like any powerful software this is probably not for the occasional user as it will take several trips in to the features to fully appreciate what it can do. If you are serious about your images you should try this software. The latest version can be downloaded for free on a 30 day trial by visiting the Corel website.
