Good Points: The staff were very helpful Garlic bread was nice once it had been sent back and replaced with freshly made bread.
Bad Points: Most of the food seemed overcooked/over heated Garlic mushrooms were watery and tasteless to me. Mayonnaise was full of bubbles and in a watery liquid form resembled milk only not as thick - tasteless White sauce was overly watered down - tasteless Chilli sauce again watery in appearance - tasteless Carbonara pasta was overcooked, there were large ungainly chunks of gammon steak which were not chopped as you would get in a normal restaurant where they are no more than approx 1cm cubes Chips were hard in the middle. Also there was side salad and garlic bread with the Carbonara both of which were submerged in what resembled a tasteless runny milkshake. Garlic fries were hard in middle and even had they been properly cooked you could not have eaten them as they were swimming in a greasy melted butter which should have been garlic. Bacon & Chicken in the Grill was awful, the bacon was hard as a rock as it had obviously been cooked in the fryer and the chicken would have been lovely im sure when it had first been cooked, whenever that had been god knows but it was obviously left overs from another occasion. It was very hard, dry and tasteless.
General comments: We have always had enjoyable meals in the Cohannon and would have regularly stopped in for a meal on the way past. However on this occasion I can say I will not be returning to this restaurant. The food was disappointing and the prices are high so you expect good quality food. I do not mind paying that bit extra when you are getting good food. Part of our meal was not charged to us but it was a waste of an evening and very disappointing.
