We have got the Vermont XL-I love this tent (we paid £499 in 2009)!! I wanted a good family tent that had a seperate "kitchen" area and "sitting" area- this delivers!! Its bigger than my first student digs!Even if the weathers bad you have enough room for the kids to play games and to cook etc safely and without getting in each others way. I have the front set up as kitchen area (cooker, fridge, cupboards and have hang storage for fruit/snacks etc- the toggles and loops in the tent lend itself... (read more)

Really disappointed with first trip in Vermount L , one main pole was squashed at fixing point so had to open that up with a gentle tap of the hammer (ok, a large tap). One of the clear windows came away from main part of material ( about 4" ) whilst zipping up . When packing up the tent , one of the cables holding the pole sections together broke then putting the tent back in the bag ( which even after watching the videos available and follwing instructions is really not easy ! ) the bag... This Outwell Vermont tent is fantastic, we were going to buy montana but stumbled on a website selling this larger tent, vermont for £425 2008 model. So after talking my husband into it we finally went away May bank holiday week and it was fantastic. Loads of room. Wardrobe is fab as you can hide all the junk out of site. Brilliant tent was pretty easy to erect too! One thing bugged me though we hung the outwell light Jupiter as illistrated in all the press about this tent, I am only 5.8"... (read more)

“Huge tent, king size mattress fits in the main bedroom...”

Huge tent, king size mattress fits in the main bedroom with space either side for bags etc, double fits easily in both the other compartments again with space for bags etc. Main living area is great. Wardrobe is useful as are the storage pockets. Option to enlarge the main area by unzipping the inner doors to encompass the front porch/wet area gives masses of space. No leaks even in heavy rain and very stable in high wind.
Excellent, even my wife who was not a fan of camping loved it. (read more)

A very spacious and bright tent. Easy to erect , (mother and 2 sons aged 11 and 14) took us about 1 1/2 hours first time.
Lots of headroom in bedrooms and in general. Like the 3 doors , plenty of ventilation and in very bad weather with high winds you can choose which door to use. The carpet is great for our beach holiday as I can lift it out and shake off the sand /grass etc. We are not new to camping ; I have camped every summer of my life , my four children love their camping holidays.... OK, we had heavy rain but you could see the seams were not sewn correctly in a lot of places. The inner sleeping areas do not have waterproof floors to them which would not have mattered if the tent had not leaked so badly. I was told by an assistant in a camping shop that there were a very large number of these tents returned last year for this reason.
Hopefully, Outwell have now fixed the problem, as it was a nice tent apart from the leaks and I really don't mean to put any one off... (read more)
