This backpack lasted me on a whole year's travels, and also came in useful for a friend on her trip. The compartments are very handy, and it is just about the right size and weight for a girl, even a small one like me (5'2"). The fold-down sections (one at the top and one at the very bottom) keep items waterproof, and help to compress down too.
