10,000 BC is a great movie if you're not going into it with high expectations. OK so historically, it might not be entirely accurate and the storyline, well, predictable and not majorly detailed... So don't expect to be taught anything by this movie. What it does manage to do however, is entertain. Set in the pre-historic world, the story follows a mammoth hunter's journey as he basically tries to pursue a tribe of warlords in order to save the girl, his voyage becomes one of mass discovery as he uncovers civilisation beyond what he once knew existed and realises that he is out to save more than just the girl. Some great effects, so so acting and some fantastic scenery make for an overall imaginative piece of film making that won't be winning any Oscars in a hurry but will take you somewhere else for a couple of hours... isn't that what films are all about?
