    Good Points: Staff speak English, friendly. Location is good - 10 minute walk to main station, 20 minutes walk to Opera house and Kreshatyk.


    Bad Points: Last makeover was 2003 and there is still a "whiff of Soviet" but I think of this a piece of history so it's pretty positive really. It is rated 3 star and is good for 3 star but don't expect 5. Autumn is most expensive time because of all the conventions in town.


    General comments: I run a web development company in Kiev and my office is near this hotel; we put our visiting clients and staff here. There is a nightclub and casino but I haven't been to either so no comment - I have been to the Circus which is just across Victory Square and that is huge fun.
