I previously had a Tempur mattress and the only difference I could see was that it had a thin layer of less dense foam on the top then heavier memory foam below that which makes it feel softer for the first few seconds however the layer that supports your body weight felt exactly the same as ergoflex and if memory serves the ergoflex layer is slightly thicker. I bought the mattress envisaging that it would facilitate a better night's sleep. However, the mattress is very soft and it is killing my back, even though I have never suffered from back trouble before. Last night, I could not lie down on the mattress and found it more comfortable on the floor. I am bitterly disappointed with this purchase as I will never be able to sleep on this mattress again. The reviews were right, this is a great mattress. I bought it for my Mum who has has hip problems which give her a lot of pain. She gets a really good nights sleep on this, it is soft yet supportive. Bought this mattress on a recommendation from a friend who has one. We needed a new super-king size bed, so it was a great excuse to treat ourselves. This is my second memory foam mattress and is by far and away the best that I've tried. It offers firm support yet is soft and luxurious to lie in. When I say in I mean that you don't lie on the mattress, you lie in it which is just fabulous.
