I've been wearing contact lenses since I was 14 years old and I am now 42. Acuvue Oasys are the worst I've ever worn! I've been wearing these for a year because I purchased enough to last so I know it's the worst made contact lens ever manufactured. Within two days of putting in a brand new pair they begin collecting dust and debris as if they're some sort of magnet for foreign particles!! Cleaning them only helps for a couple of hours! Don't waste your money on these.....they are a... (read more)

I've been wearing yearly contacts 12+ hours a day for the last 15 years, never had any problem, even a dry eye. After 3 days of wearing Oasys (I'm not sure whether with Hydraclear or not) I've developed the dryest eye in my life. After a week (encouraged by the doctor to wear the contacts anyway, because 'eyes are getting used to new technology') I've developed blepharitis and can't wear contacts for the next few weeks, at least. I don't think it's a coincidence that I came to the... (read more)

Put a brand new lens in my eye. I have been wearing contacts for 5 years and this brand for two without problems however this time one of my lenses irritated me a little. I wore it fore a couple hours then took it out. That is when Inoticed severe pain and my eye was dark red all over. I cried all night in agony and wwent to the eye doctor first thing in the am where he removed a shard of hard plastic from the center of my eye where the pupil is. I am still in pain and my vision is... (read more)

Can't believe how much poorer my eye sight becomes with "Acuvue Oasis for Astigmatism" lens compared with "Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism" lens with no difference in prescription. Even the comfort is much less with the Oasis lens. Should have tried the Oasis lens more before I bought a box of it, which I am ready to throw away. Thank God that the Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism lens still works for me. As a side note, tried to put this review on the official Acuvue web site yesterday and... (read more)

I've been wearing acuvue2 lenses for years but recently my vision has changed & they weren't as suitable My optician suggested Acuvue Oasys. I tried these for 3 months. They were more comfortable BUT they kept tearing at a rate of about 1 or 2 a week. I've been wearing contact lenses for 25 years now so I'm used to handling them. I took them back & my optician told me noone else had found them too fragile but I've since read reviews of others with lenses that tear & so wanted to alert... (read more)

I've been wearing Precision UV contact lenses for more than 15 years and now after a new eye control I've been recomended Accuvue Oasys with hydraclear plus and UV protection. I must say that tey are not comparable. I could not wear Precision lenses more than 10 hours a day, a night it was impossible to drive a car. Now I can wear my lenses all day and sometimes sleep with them and the next day I dont need even to clean them! So besides the UV protection that is a must for me I am very... (read more)

I switched to Acuvue Oasys at my eye doctors recommendation, or rather she said that I was wearing 'old' lenses and that I would find these much better. Since I started to wear them i have been having trouble with blurred vision, itching eyes, swollen eyes, pasted shut in the mornings. It took about a month of wear before it got really bad. And it took me some time to figure out what the problem was. I have gone to the doctor to have my eyes examined - she said, oh it's just an allergy.... (read more)

I upgraded from Acuvue2 to Acuvue Oasys on my doctor's recommendation. These contacts are very thin but that does not mean that they are comfortable. 2 lenses tore and I've never had that problem in the past and I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years.
They lose their shape very quickly making it more difficult to take out. They would often dry out and removing them felt like I was tearing a layer of flesh from my iris. If they ever get misaligned they don't readjust naturally like...

I got Acuvue Oasys after doctor recommendation saying that these lenses have more oxygen content in it plus would prevent dryness. My observations after a week use (10 hr daily) of bi-weekly disposable lenses.
Adv: Good for people who want thin lens, no irritation as such, no vision problems
Disadv: Lot of protein accumulation which becomes difficult to clean, they feel heavy, expensive
Planning to switch over to bausch & lomb daily disposable lens. Heard those are very good.

I have been wearing Bousch and Lomb contacts for 14 years with no real problems. I recently switched to the Acuvue Oasys lenses on my doctor's recommendation...(well he really just prescribed them without talking to me about them). They were mostly fine for the first month, though never comfortable. Then the problems started. They were extremely dry and uncomfortable and I couldn't wear them for more than a couple hours without wanting to dump a bottle of Visine in my eyes. My eyes would get... (read more)

Last year my doc switched me from Acuvue Advanced to Acuvue Oasys. Withig a week, I phoned and got the Advanced script and ordered them instead. The Oasys was extremely hard to put in - I insert each morning with no problems - until Oasys -- and once inserted, blurry vision -- awful! Can't read. I have my ann'l appointment in 2 days and ran out of Advance lens, so I had to use the Oasys I had left from last year -- I stil had 5 new ones -- so I put it in easily this morning, but haven't... I can't believe my doctor prescripted me with such comfortable contact lenses. I always suffered with dry eyes when i wore contacts. The longer i wore them the redder my eyes got. I use to wear CV dailies. Since their water content was 69% my eyes were too dry for them. Acuvue Oasys only has 38% water content. Which is perfect for me. These are the best acuvue contacts ive ever worn. I can wear them for more than 10 hours a day and my eyes still stay very white. :D (read more)

I used to have acuvue advance contact lenses few years ago and they were great. My optician switched me to acuvue oasys over 1 week ago. They feel dry and heavy, and my vision is not as clear as with the previous once.
I will stick to oasys for another 3 months but later I think I will go back to acuvue advance. Much more comfortable !

I love these lenses> They are not very cheap, but my eyes never dry out - in fact my eyes are more comfortable with the lenses in than out! I use them as extended wear weekly lenses.

I would give the Oasys Zero stars if I could (it wouldn't let me). Had major problems with the Oasys lenses including blurred vision and couldn't read text up close. Wore them for over a year. Recently switched to Avaira and all my problems are gone. Very crisp vision including perfect near vision. If you have any issues with blurred vision using Oasys, give Avaira a try...so very glad I did! (read more)

I have worn lenses for twenty years - I was advised to switch to Acuvue Oasys to allow more oxygen into the eyes. After a couple of weeks my vision was starting to appear slightly blurred and it made me frown and struggle to get crisp vision.
After this, my eyes developed loads of protein and then the real discomfort started. This went on for months - sticky eyes, redness, sore, itchy. I started reading reviews on the material used in these lenses and I have put my problems down to an...

I've been wearing Acuvue Oasys for the past 4 years having previously worn Acuvue Advance. I prefer Acuvue for the fit as most other contact lenses are too small and not flat enough for my eyes. Plus I wear them for up to 10 hours a day 4 or 5 days a week using a computer so I needed them to stay moist and comfortable.
The vision is clear and the comfort is high even after 8 hours. The only thing I notice is even after careful cleaning and soaking the lenses get areas that when worn seem...

I have worn acuvue 2 lenses for as long as I can remember -- 10, 15 years? -- but a new optometrist said I was showing signs of vein intrusion into the cornea due to lack of oxygenation and switched me to Oasys. The trial lenses seemed ok for a few days, then something gradually switched and I began to feel as if I just couldn't see, not focusing well on anything, the vision gettingh worse and worse; I also started to see haloes around lights. My theory is that I may be allergic to silicon,... (read more)

I wore the original Acuvue lenses for almost 20 years day and night (new pair each week) and never had any problems. I wasn't planning to switch but J&J stopped manufacturing them, so I switched to Acuvue Oasys. Frankly I hardly notice any difference -- they're just as comfortable and I see just as well. In view of the fact that they allow 5 to 7 times more oxygen to reach the eye, I'm glad I made the switch. (read more)

These lenses are, for me, energy-intensive to use, for reasons above.
They are the only ones tried (of 6) that gave me really sharp distance focus.
If I find another lens that also gives me sharp distance focus, I'd switch.

Great feeling lens but after a week of wearing them, I was unable to focus while looking at my computer screen or any other text. I do not wear reading glasses, so I know that is not the issue. I switched back to Acvue Hydroclear and the focus issue went away. (read more)

I got one box (6 lenses) of the Oasys and every single lens I put in felt like there was grit or dust or something on them when I put them in. Sometimes it was the left one and sometimes the right one. I would take the offending lens out and clean it multiple times to no avail. Within a few weeks or so, I had run through the whole box switching out the bad contact for another until there were none left. I wondered if perhaps they had tiny cracks or tears in them. There was not a single... (read more)

My optometrist switched me from Acuvue 2 to Oasys about a year ago. They were less dry especially in the morning after sleeping in them. Although thinking back, I don't thing my vision was as good with them.
On my latest exam I went up 0.25 on my prescription. Even in the exam room, I didn't see very well with them in. I just thought my eyes were tired. When I got to work, I noticed my vision was blurry reading labels and text. The letters just seemed to run together. This was...

I've worn contacts for 20+ years. I tried acuvue oasys and had real difficulty removing them - it was as if they were suctioned to my eye. Drops did not help. I found them to be very comfortable, but after 40 minutes of trying to remove one lens, I'm going back to my old lenses. (read more)

I've worn Acuvue Oasys for over a year and at first thought they were great b/c they didn't dry out or feel uncomfortable, but after about 6 months, I started to get rips in them and thought it was just me as I rub my eyes a lot. I have very sensitive eyes so I didn't pay attention to some of the problems I've just recently read b/c I thought it was just me and I never thought to look up reviews until it's become so bad and now, in hindsight, a lot of the issues I had are issues that have... I used Acuvue 2 for years before I tried Acuvue Oasys, and now I'm switching back. Oasys lenses are significantly more expensive, but not that much more comfortable and didn't last any longer. They sometimes became strangely warped if I left them in solution for more than a day or left them in a case while traveling, so that my vision would be blurry for an hour or so while their shape readjusted. This happened even with new lenses and with a variety of solutions and cases. (read more)
