Good Points: Great after a night out Cheap Can take a variety of toppings Goes well with most forms of egg
Bad Points: May cause fire related accident Not recommended for those with a wheat allergy
General comments: I find nothing better than a couple slices of lightly burnt bread topped with soft, melting butter, whether it be first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. Preferably both. "Toast", as it is commonly known, works well with so many different toppings, from the standard Anchor Butter to more exotic spreads like Nutella or jam.
More experienced users can progress to advanced version such as Melba Toast or even "Toasties".
Melba Toast is simply re-toasting the bread after an initial burst of heat, and slicing it lengthwise into very thin, very crispy slices. This is best served with Pat .
Toasties can be made using a Toastie Maker (or Breville) which can be found in the Electrical Appliances section of this site.
Standard Toast can be sliced into thin strips to become "Little Soldiers" that are usually found with a soft boiled egg. This dish can be very popular with young (and grown-up) kids so take note!
I'm hungry now... anyone for a round of toast?
