“Good personal service. Confusing web follow-up. ”

★★★☆☆

written by DeaconWooten133 on 15/06/2016

The initial website was helpful. As were the staff on the phone. We were able to choose the package we were looking for. After the package was chosen, some of the web-based material has been more confusing.

“Found that was being directed to cars we didnt want...”

★★★☆☆

written by iuBarker186 on 27/04/2015

Found that was being directed to cars we didnt want and never had the colour we wanted. Would take around 3 or 4 weeks. Whereby went to a different company and within a week our colour and car of our choice had been ordered and delivered. When someone would like a particular car you should make every effort to source it but kept going around in circles.

“Long wait ”

My initial quote was for £109 inc vat then a System error caused quote to be increased to £131 inc vat. I was given an estimated delivery date of the end of October and my new car was delayed until 17th November.

“FVL not as transparent as hoped when leasing a car!”

★★★☆☆

written by on 17/04/2014

I agree that FVL have some great deals and they worked hard to offer me a Fiat 500L in white for the same price a competitor company offered in new age cream. I prefered white so I gave FVL the business. FVL are quick to take an admin fee once the lease agreement has been accepted but then things slow down. Agreements to be signed turn up a week later and its from this point that a cooling off period of fourteen days kicks in. Be aware of this because I do not recall being advised of this period but I do understand why its in place. What FVL should advise customers is that once they receive your signed agreement, you have fourteen days to cancel the agreement during which time nothing else will happen. Fourteen days time the vehicle will be ordered from the vehicle supplier and you will be contacted with the registration details so that you the customer can arrange insurance and Gap insurance. We will also advise a provisional delivery date subject to dealer. I also think that FVL should allow customers to cancel the agreement with a full refund if delivery cannot be made within four weeks of the orginal date of signing the agreement. Im still looking forward to taking delivery but the shine is coming off the experience the longer it takes. I also believe that FVL come up with excuses of admin errors and dealer has not come back to us to hide the truth. I honestly believe my car has just been ordered on 14th April 14 and I'll be forced to wait some weeks for delivery.

“Takes longer than expected to get a car”

★★★☆☆

written by mike1234510 on 03/04/2014

Enquired about a car from first vehicle leasing. Assumed the price would for personnel lease would be the business cost plus the vat...that was not the case. Happily they did stick to monthly cost advertised with vat but stuck a little more on the deposit. I was hoping it would be quick process...it has not been. First of all they have a 2 week cooling off period which can only start when you submit the paperwork which took 3 days to come! Assumed my car would be delivered immediately after the cooling period expired but being told I have to wait for nearly and extra week. In total it will have taken nearly a month to get the car. Also being told that I am getting a 63 reg when 04 reg is out as they had to do it to guarantee the deal on the car although it will have only delivery miles on it. Thought it would have been easy and simple but it has been anything but. They have great deals but if you are wanting a car quick thing again.

“disappointed at no spare wheel provided”

★★★☆☆

written by nissanluca on 23/03/2014

i was very disappointed to find that there is no spare wheel on a brand new car! I consider this as a mandatory , and not an optional extra! This impacts heavily on personal safety, knowing you have a spare wheel in case of any emergency, and should be used to extort more money from the customer . Things like sat nav is considered optional luxury, but a spare wheel? "c`mon" EG: i do not know of any car dealer which has a spare wheel as an optional extra. Car is very nice, but feel let down by being held to ransom over a spare wheel on a brand new car, very disappointed!

Hi,

The car not having a spare wheel is down to the manufacturer, not the car dealer.

Lots of vehicles have a puncture repair kit instead now-a-days.

It's for Co2 emissions that this has happened, less weight = less Co2.

“Tracking down the right car”

★★★☆☆

written by on 24/12/2012

We got there in the end. My vehicle history for the last 12 + years has been for AWD vehicles. Quotes received from the agent were more often than not for 2wd vehicles even when I had specified AWD and had to double check to make sure. Agent not having the ability to think laterally is frustrating and to ensure that the quotes are for a specific type of vehicle. I had asked for prices for a number of vehicles of this type and was told to look on the web site where I could DIM and get the costs. When I e-mailed back the details and the prices I was then told NO these prices on the web are for Companies and not 'personal' quotes. When the short list had been made and the quotes provided for comparison and I was about to make my final decision I asked again based on the above to make sure this was the AWD model I was let down again as the quote was for the 2wd vehicle (Mazda CX-5). I now have the 2013 model Honda CR-V 2.2iD SE. Which replaces my 59 plate Honda CR-V.

A clean credit history is what's important. Speaking generally about lease companies, they usually only care that you will be accountable for your financial responsibilities in the event that the car is stolen or totalled. They are usually insured against that risk, the cost based your credit rating and the size of your your down payment.
