WHAT A GEM I was stunned at the range of products available from Indian, asian, carribbean thai Japanese and more even greek as i said before what a find. Order online and expected good in 2-5 days. After two weeks we are still waiting. Their courier claims to have delivered them and left them in porch. We don't have one! Plus the house was occupied all week (and we had several other parcels). We contacted the company four or five times and they couldn't care less. I asked for a refund, and they didn't reply. Although my order from “The Asian Cookshop” was achieved quickly, payment out the bank immediately, there was no confirmation delivery time or date, until I emailed and then my EXPRESS parcel arrived. The individual packs all seemed to have been re-taped closed…… Why I wondered? To discover…….. The ground cumin (and I bought 1kg), had hardly any flavour when cooked not a bargain at £6.65 ….. Placed order on 8 March was told on 12th March that DPD has delivered the goods (I was home all day and no one knocked) when I emailed the company and explained this I have had nothing but problems since with them, stating that DPD are investigating this. However, I forgot to order one item and I am now asked to pay £14.plus for postage for one item weighing 200 grams which I am not prepared to pay as I consider this excessive. May I commend you on the quality of your U-Cook brand curry products. My wife and I have been cooking Indian dishes for many years from the basics upwards; from grinding spices through marinades and cooking. Brilliant shopping site. I live in Cornwall and find it very difficult to get certain 'speciality' foods. It is very annoying when cookery programmes and books assume that everyone is near an Asian food market. The Asian Cookshop has so far supplied everything I have required. We've been using these guys for a while now and the service is always slow at best. They take your money straight away even if you ask them not to, say the item is on its way, then inform you days later it is in fact out of stock, even though they've taken your money when you have said don't. Email feedback is ignored and I guess the item will turn up one day, but you know... :o(( (read more)

Hmmmm ditto, ordered my stuff, after 7 days still didn't arrive, they say they sent me an email saying my order was cancelled !! I never recived this email and they have charged my credit card when they d=say they didn't, let's see if they keep in touch and give me my refund !!!!!

It is difficult to buy Asian food in this part of Scotland and my family enjoy there days out so we can have lunch, they particularly like the sweets. Found the website and was pleased to find that we could order all the puddings and sweets we needed without a long day trip. The web site is easy to navigate and the postage is free over a set amount. The delivery was next day which was surprising and the courier even gave a time. Hi.
I also had very bad customer service from this company - Although looking at the address in Google Streetview, it does look like a run down back street store, so I should have looked at this before buying. I spent over £40.00 with them and had a problem with one item that was shown not being described accurately. I contacted them and did get a reply, basicly saying that if I wanted to return the item, I had to pay the postage (Although it was not my fault) They were very rude and blunt and felt like I was a nusiance to them and refused to offer any solution - This has since been handed over to the Offices of Fair Trading and they have taken on the case as the item description is not legal. Could I suggest that anybody else who has a problem with this amateurly run business do the same. Needless to say that myself and a lot of people who used to use them, will no longer do so. All for the sake of 89p - How sad are they.

Although when things go well this shop may be good. I found that my goods never arrived. After waiting for the 5 days period suggested by them once the delivery failed to arrive I contacted them. I was given the Couriers reference number and found that the delivery had been attempted twice and I could not be found. The parcel had been sent back.
