    Good Points: Lancrigg itself is a beautiful old house and all its furnishings reflect the quiet, beauty and peace of the building and location. the staff are so nice, friendly helpful without being intrusive. Of course the food is absolutely fab, nowhere compares. Having visited for several years now every single visit remains a wonderful experience.


    Bad Points: There are none - except it is expensive - but you get what you pay for and its worth it


    General comments: The foot and mouth horrors devastated many rural businesses - and we visited Lancrigg in this period as we are only strollers rather than mountain climbers. We had Grassmere and Lancrigg virtually to ourselves.
    The manager went thro a very difficult time like other businesses there. Thank heavens Lancrigg survived. I have traveled far and wide but there is nowhere anywhere that can compare with the peace, beauty, charm, comfort and food at Lancrigg.
