the staff at the white Lion were very friendly. the pub itself was inviting with a good range of food on offer. We had two visits because our first one was so positive. However, our second visit a day later was spoilt because the White Lion staff loaded our tab with an extra drink which unfortunately we did not notice until we were back at our accomodation 20 miles away.
Couple this with the fact that one of our party of six suffers from a severe egg allergy which requires great caew when ordering food. The staff dealt with it well but it should not have happened and could have been serious.

Absolutely marvellous! Seriously I know going to the Lakes is a very enjoyable experience, Hawkshead bear shop, a trip on the lake etc, but being able to relax in a pub/ho ...
