    Good Points: Can use as a security system plus a home automation control system too. The live video feature on my iphone is greaat and fast with very quality picture. The customer support is very good.


    Bad Points: customer support not open in the late evening. Doesn't come with battery back up as standard but you can buy as extra.


    General comments: myhome247.co.uk Standalone Starter Kit is really good value for money - as much more functional than a normal just security system and the cameras really are very very good and the fact that you can control and view your home from your mobile much easier than a normal IP networked solution which i find impossible to set up so gave up and bought this instead.

    Absolutely great system from myhome247.co.uk as you can use it for a million and one things due to all the different accessories. Once you've got your head around setting up the rules that you want it runs without fault. Mainly I can rely on myself checking in if anything happens and actually see what is going on live from my phone so this stops any paranoia straight away!

    I've gone for the premium account ( '£11.95 per month for 250 MB online storage), but you can also go for the standard plus account which is '£9.99 per month for 50 megs of storage. There is no charge for heavy usage, it's a flat fee which works really well for me.

    Must be a small company as I spent ages looking for a well priced solution so i could monitor my house remotely and found these guys after visiting grand designs in June.

    The way it works is you connect the gateway to your broadband, buy the remote service account which is mandatory and they send you details of how to activate.
