Good Points: The food. Without a doubt the best caf in Bristol. It may come under the classification of 'greasy spoon' (with the largest breakfasts, both vegetarian and carnivore) but the menu covers so much more than one would expect. Everything from sandwiches bursting at the seams to exquisite salads, fresh salmon, roast dinners and the most enormous T-bone steak known to humankind are on offer. All dishes are freshly prepared and large enough to satisfy the most ravenous of diners. Pablo -the chef- takes personal pride in ensuring all customers are satisfied. As a vegetarian I often find myself the poor relation of meat-eaters when dining out: not at Tasty Stop. The vegetarian is catered for fully and the proprietors are more than happy to customise meals to my requirements.
Bad Points: None. The only slight grumble is that they aren't open after 6pm.
General comments: I have sampled the fare in 90% of the cafes in Bristol and nothing comes close to the sheer quality and quantity of food on offer at Tasty Stop. I have recommended it to many friends, all of whom have been impressed by the place. One friend was so taken with it that after his first visit he used to take a taxi every lunchtime from his job in the centre of Bristol to Tasty Stop. It really is that good. Some interesting trivia: Tasty Stop has featured in the E4 series "Skins"; it was a favourite haunt of Brian Tinnion when he was manager of Bristol City and he could often be found in there with his senior players discussing match tactics; the size of the breakfasts once overwhelmed a group of visiting Americans who couldn't believe such portions were available outside of Texas; it has a huge fish-tank which will keep the most boisterous of children entertained while you enjoy your meal.
