Lloyds duo has an automatic fraud prevention system which is a good idea but doesn't work. I had a payment to Apple computers for 2500.00 blocked as it looked suspicious? Called them and approved to payment, then got billed for the same payment again. Called the fraud prevention team who suggested calling Apple to refund the card. I would have thought that the 2nd payment would have been flagged up as suspicious and stopped. The fraud prevention measures clearly do not work and the numpties you have to deal with have no idea of resolving the situation. Best to avoid and collect points elsewhere.

Took out the LLoyds Duo card to get Airmiles as wife and myself spend quite a lot each month on credit cards. Always pay off in full and as a regular traveller there is spending across europe if not worldwide on a regular basis. The biggest problem is that it will be blocked from time to time due to irregular spending but that is how we use it. Have had a couple of very awkward moments when payment has been declined. One was for excess baggage at the airport where I had to ask our customer to pa ...

I made a payment from my Lloyds internet bank account and although it left my current account, the payment was never credited to the Duo card account. The money has gone into what custmer services are calling a "black hole". I have spent 5 hours over 2 months trying to get my payment which was substantial credited back to my account. It has been blamed on a new system. Every time I try to get through to someone who is more than front line support on the TSB system, I get fobbed off with excuses ...

Absolute RUBBISH! Bad customer service, VERY bad!
I have held a lloydstsb classic card for approx 8 years.Never had any issues.
Decided to apply for the airmiles duo card through airmiles website as they offer a 1500 mile voucher.
Card got accepted fine, no problems, only to find out that my existing lloydstsb card had been cancelled, and my remaining balance(0% until 12/09) was transferred across to the airmiles card.
Not only that, they had reduced my available limit right down from £550 ...

The wrong account number was printed on my Lloyds TSB Duo Air Miles Credit Card July statement which I didn't realise. I paid my bill as usual but the amount was not credited to my account. My bank statement shows the amount has been paid. The Customer Services people were very nice but I have rung 3 times now to get it sorted, I now have to go to the branch I paid it from to ask them to chase it. Dealing with this over the phone is hard as I have all the proof in the paperwork but they can't se ...

I spend thousands every year on both my lloyds tsb airmiles duo cards, internationally. I have never had any problems. Occasionally they stop a transaction to check it's genuine as it has flagged up a potential security breach. But they telephone you immediately to see it's okay. That's happened twice in three years. I prefer that than being cloned. Great customer service and I get free flights from having them.

Absolutely appalling! I only used LLoyds TSB Airmiles Duo as we used to collect airmiles from natwest but its not worth airmiles points. I paid for an item that wasn't delivered and the merchant did not refund our money. So I called & spoke to Lloyds customer service who said they would send a form etc. Forms filled out & proof of purchase/contract sent out. A few later, I get a letter from Lloyds that says 'whilst they sympathise, they cannot refund the money & I would have to take it up with t ...

I wasn't too happy about moving from Natwest who had run the Airmiles card well for many years. I struggled on until May 2009 when my Amex card was refused. LTSB call centre suspected fraudulent activity and said that my card would work ok the next day. It didn't. The next call to them told me that they had implemented a new system and somehow my cards wouldn't work, not ever and so they would send out replacements in two weeks as they were putting in a new system and couldn't issue cards.... Th ...

I suggest that anyone considering using Lloyds TSB Duo Cards thinks long and hard. It simply isn't worth it for a few air miles. My experience: Myself and wife had 2 lots of duo cards, one mislaid and assumed lost so reported it to card security people. All 4 cards stopped of course because they had a system where if one card is compromised all need to be stopped. They said that system had been changed and they would send out 4 new cards with different numbers (22nd May) Got letter dated 25th Ma ...

LLoyds TSB Airmiles Duo cards will not speak to an additional card holder unless they hold an authority from the principal card holder. Out of the blue comes a letter requiring that any authority must cover ALL Lloyds TSB accounts held by the principal card holder now or in the future. The existing authority will be cancelled on May 15.Not much notice there. The original authority is worded that it stays in force until I give new written instructions.A new form of authority covering disclosu ...

I moved to Lloyds TSB Duo card when Nat West stopped airmiles. I was really hacked off when I lost over 100 airmiles because my card declined when I tried to pay for a TV - out of pattern expenditure was the reason given 2 hours later when i managed to speak with them - they would not even give me my lost airmiles as a goodwill gesture. This week was the limit - my bank messed up a payment to them and they simply stopped my card 5 days because I was 5 days late in paying - they didn't call or ...

I have used credit cards since Barclaycard first came out in the 1960's with no problems. For very many years I had Nat West credit cards and premier cards which gave Airmiles, and never a problem. When they stopped doing Airmiles I switched to Lloyds/ TSB Duo with Airmiles - big mistake!I always pay my account off in full by direct debit every month but despite that I have had so many problems with declined payments for no good reason. This is, at best a nuisance and embarrassing but it has act ...

All the reviews on this site have all been very negative, but my experience with Lloyds and the Airmiles Duo card has been absolutely fine. Everything was done easily and with no fuss, cards delivered quickly, pins worked, etc.. Very happy with everything.

I was sent a letter to confirm the change to the new cards and decided not to opt out. A couple of weeks later the new cards arrived and worked straight away on the previous pin number. The online banking account changed about a week later and everything has worked fine since. It can take 20-30 minutes to get your call answered sometimes but i have 3 branches local to me and calling back late evening seems to work.

It seems ot me that the systems are just not in place to provide a decent srvice. Staff do not seem to be able to give an explanation and have given me totally different stories and advice when I call. And zero points for customer service - for example:
    - no e mail address for complaints so snail mail or fax only!
    - no delivery of cards other than Mon - Fri when most people are at work?
Ever heard of a weekend or evening delivery LloydsTSB?
    Avoid doing business with them!

I had always been happy with Lloyds up to this point. I think it is irresponsible to send out new cards in the post when customers arent expecting them. I think it is wrong to change people's accounts without their express consent. Poor customer service - I called Lloyds in April when I saw a duo account appear on my online banking, had a really pushy person trying to convince me to keep the blooming thing. I was told i had been written to with a chance to opt out of transferring my platinum car ...

I think if Lloyds has to force something on you against your will, it can not be that good. I am waiting to be changed back to my platinum card, I was told I would not face any charges, I am still waiting to see if this is true.

We have had the same thing happen. Apparently the bank wrote asking us to write back if we didn't want to change to the new card. This must have been mixed up with the load of junkmail that they include with all our letters, so was never noticed. It feels unfair and banks shouldn't make customers feel like this. I am going to write to the banking ombudsman and watchdog about this practice.... customer services told me that visa had been taken over by mastercard! apparently lloyds don't want to i ...

LLoyds TSB Airmiles Duo Review - This method of improving take-up of cards using an opt-out system should not be permitted. In my case I have been informed that it will take 'several weeks' to transfer the balances back to my original card! When this saga is eventually over I shall be cancelling my Platinum card as well - I see no point in continuing with this card if it can be changes at the will of the bank!
