Ordered. Band saw in March. The website showed it "in stock ". I have had 3 delivery dates in May. Still not here' now two delivery dates for June still not here! The latest says the 5th June. Waiting with abated breath. Customer service is email only. Which is strange as back in early May you could telephone. I wonder why this is? What ever the reason it is very FRUSTRATING! If you can't get of the bandsaw just say so, stop promising alternative delivery dates, 1 May, 3 May, 18/19 May, 1st June, latest email says 5 June.

On 1st January I ordered and paid for by PayPal a Silverline 974451 Wet & Dry vacuum cleaner. My order, which included a delivery charge, was acknowledged by (automated) email the same day. I chose Tool-net because their prices were lower than their competitors, although once the delivery charge was added that gap narrowed. I now realise that this is a deliberate ploy to secure customers who, if their experience is anything like mine, will come to regret their decision. Tool-net’s website says ‘Please allow 3-5 working days for this delivery option (Excludes Weekends and Bank Holidays). However, most orders are delivered next day using this option.’ As I had heard nothing more by Thursday 5th January, I emailed to enquire about progress. Because the order status was still showing ‘payment authorised’, but with no mention of despatch, I threatened to cancel my order in the absence of timely delivery. In reply I was informed that as they re-opened after their Christmas break on 3rd January my order was ‘due to be with you Monday/Tuesday at the latest.’ No apology was made or excuse given for the delay. My order has still not arrived and it’s now the evening of the 10th, six working days later. Instead, I have been notified that the item has been despatched today, with a tracking link, and will be delivered by UKMail. But on opening the link, to try to find out when my order will be delivered, it shows ‘No results found’. So whether the item I bought and paid for nine days ago actually comes tomorrow is highly conjectural, especially in view of a number of unfavourable comments on this carrier’s service. Given that Tool-net’s business hours are Monday – Friday 10am to 4pm, and their evident lack of concern at the delay, I shall not be using them again. In the competitive world of trade suppliers there’s no room for nine-to-fivers, when other more well-established companies offer reliable next day delivery as a matter of course.

I was very enthusiastic about the cheapest price I could find on the internet, but massively let down by the service. I was firstly worried that I'd just been done, because PayPal had processed my payment, but there was and still is no sign of order confirmation. After submitting my query it wasn't until a day later that I was asked for an order number that, clearly, I didn't have due to lack of confirmation. I gave papal trans number and nobody replied... until they told me my order would be delayed (4days after placing the order). Both items were displayed as in stock on the website. The member of staff did, however, confirm that the MAKITA RT0700CX4/1 710W ¼" ROUTER TRIMMER would be delivered by the end of the 3-5 day delivery estimate, with the r cutter bits to follow on a next day service after it arrived in the warehouse. I'm still waiting. Tomorrow will be the 10th day after placing the order. I'm just hoping that in the end you do actually get what you pay for!

I am very sorry it does not look like we received the email with the transaction ID. We did have reports that Office 365 was not processing properly so your email may have been effected by that I think.
The update email you had was an email which is automatically sent to any order that is effected by a possible delay. As advised the units are due with us this week and we have had confirmation that they will be here tomorrow so we will get it on a next day delivery for you for delivery Friday.

Ordered a screw gun and dry wall screws. Was told it would arrive on the 28th August, didn't arrive until 6th September. The order was missed due to 'human error' which derailed a weekends worth of work and had to cancel several jobs. No refund of postage, just got given a £5 off next purchase, which is about 5% of my order price. The voucher was also for 'valued customers' - I assume this was more for people leaving good reviews. My complaint was handled poorly by the staff, I was not informed about it being late, when I called to ask they didnt even know it had not been sent. I had to call back twice after no response and it was not even sent until the following day. Safe to say that £5 voucher is useless.

Our standard processing and delivery is between 3-5 working days which we quote on our delivery options. Next day deliveries are possible as well you just need to email or call us before you place your order and we can get a delivery cost for you and arrange it for you. The only items that can take a bit longer for delivery on a standard delivery is the large Lyte or Youngmans items as they are delivered on a milk round when they are in your area.

Not received the product as yet but the company would not process delivery until a contact number added -fair enough - paid by PayPal so should have just been a simple process? Tried to track purchase for a delivery date " which I paid postage for" to do this I needed to register with the company I followed the process outlined over a 6 times each time an error , not sure what was needed :-( i give in! I will ring the company up next working day. The system will note for you on the top of the page what is wrong for instance if you have not entered your surname or postcode it won't register the account until that has been filled out. Customer Services are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and can assist you with any problems you may have.
Your order is for a ladder which is delivered on a milk round which means they deliver to you when they are in your area with other deliveries. The reason that a contact number was required was so that the courier can advise you when they are in your area and able to make your delivery. They don't always know which day they will be in your area when you make your purchase so you are contacted nearer the time.

purchase received with missing parts, advised that manufacturer had to be contacted, and I had to wait. manufacturer firstly advised by email that I had to complete a warranty registration!!!! if no answer by phone, answerphone requires email, not an option if your in work all day and no access to emails! problem starting machine , email sent, read receipt received, but no follow up call or email!

Placed and paid for an order on the 9th. Not until the 12th do they bother to contact me saying they need a phone number before processing it. For an online retailer to have an order form that can be completed and accepted without flagging something necessary is missing is amateurish. Taking three days before even looking at the order hardly inspires confidence.

OK I know they say delivery is 3-5 working days but for £8+ I expect as fast as possible, not one day later than the maximum. This was for a medium sized, not very heavy jiffy bag that went through Royal Mail. 8 quid and late!!! It's my own fault for being stupid enough to pay that delivery charge without NBD, it won't be happening again.

Initial order was accepted but I was then contacted to say that the free delivery promotion code offered by the site was not valid for the order. Not a problem and I asked that the order be cancelled and a refund given. Despite 2 emails to say that I have not received a refund and promises that it would be dealt with as a priority I am still waiting more than 1 month after the order was cancelled.

You noted you used a free delivery voucher. All the vouchers are subject to terms and conditions and as long as these are met your voucher will be processed.
The only reasons vouchers would not be accepted is if you don't have the pass code required, or it does not meet the minimum spend value on the particular voucher or you have used more than one per order. All the vouchers have noted the terms on them so you can see the terms before you add the voucher to your basket.

I recently ordered two products from tool-net an air compressor and a welder, as tool-net had the cheapest prices for the same product at any other tool company by a considerable margin. But sadly this was the only positive about dealing with this company, as one of the items were over over 30Kg i had to pay extra for delivery, which is fair enough but there was no option on the website for a heavier weight delivery, therefore had to wait another day until they were able to contact me to pay the extra delivery cost which then failed to process on multiple occasions. therefore i ordered something on a Wednesday evening on next day delivery but hadn't actually received the item until the following Thursday (8 days after placing the order). This brings me onto the delivery company the tool-net uses, UK Mail, this is the most unprofessional and non-organised i have ever had the displeasure of working with. initially they were later than the 1 hour window that they had given themselves, then once the delivery driver got to my house he sat in his van and didnt even attempt to delivery the package but instead updated the tracking information as failed delivery attempt. When trying to contact UK Mail via phone all i could get to was an automated message therefore decided to go down to there depot in cambuslang, where i managed to collect the package on shear instinct alone. Ironically looking at the poster on the wall in the collection room it sad abuse and aggression will not be tolerated, which made me wonder how often this company fails to provide the service that they are being PAID to provide.

We received your first order at 17.03 on the 7th October (Please note we close at 5pm). We emailed you for the additional payment the next morning at 08.20 and left a voicemail at 09.41. You called us back at 16.31 to make payment. Unfortunately this payment did not go through successfully. We called back and left a voicemail and emailed the next morning (9th) at 11.35 and 11.38 advising you of this and requested you called us back to discuss. We did not hear from you and sent a further email at 08.49 on the 14th. You called us back and payment went through successfully. As a good will gesture, we upgraded your delivery to a Next Day delivery at no extra cost and your order was delivered successfully on the 15th.
Your 2nd order for the welder was under 30kg and was processed as normal and I can see it should have been delivered on your 4th working day (please note we quote 3-5 working days for delivery) but it would appear you have collected it from the UK Mail depot at 18.27 later that day. I do apologise if you have had issues with this delivery and we will forward your comments to UK Mail to investigate.

I ordered a 10T press through the website and paid in full including the basic delivery option costing £6.99. A day later I received a email saying that I still owed £12.02 for delivery as the basic delivery wasn't sufficient for the item. (surely they know this and shouldn't offer it as a option on the website) In short I had to pay the extra money meaning Tool Net were no longer the cheapest option and my delivery has been delayed. If I had known the total price and delivery time at the start I would have ordered elsewhere. My advice is to check very carefully about delivery cost and time as it is very misleading on the website. Other shops are cheaper once the delivery is taken into account.

I ordered a set of ladders, I was told they would be delivered in 3-5 working days, they took 13 days from the despatch date to arriving at my home only to arrive damaged. Although a replacement was arranged they expected me to wait the same length of time again until I complained and the replacement arrived 2 days later. The collection of the faulty ladders took another week as for some unknown reason it had to done in separate transactions? The only thing I have been offered is a voucher for my next order which is not much use when I won't use this company again.

The manufacturers have not had any courier issues, the problem seems to be the despatch emails, I got a despatch email almost 10 days before the ladders were actually sent, they were sent on a 3 day delivery and once sent arrived within that timescale, the delivery drivers work for a national courier service and don't therefore work on a milk round system and can deliver any day of the week.
I requested a refund of the delivery cost weeks ago now and as yet all I have been offered is a voucher off future orders, which I have already told you there won't be any of.

Due to the manufacturer experiencing some problems with their deliveries they used some other couriers to help them out last week to clear the back log they had. Even when they use other couriers the orders are still processed on the milk round system per area as they have to get their stock moved from the relevant depot. After google searching for a certain tool I came across tool-net, Their prices were very reasonable. I proceeded to place my order for 3 items. Couple of days passed then I received an email stating that they required more postage due to a heavy item. why this cost wasn't added at the checkout stage I don't know. I paid the extra £6 postage. Another couple of days past and i receive an email stating that the item which i paid the extra postage for was out of stock. starting to loose faith in their service I decided to cancel that particular item and asked for a refund. Well that was 3 weeks ago and despite numerous emails and a phone call I still have not received my refund. The other 2 items arrived fairly quickly and I have no problems with that. I will continue to try and get my refund and will soon be contacting trading standards.

Could you please let us have your order number so we can look into your cancelled order further? You should have had a refund by now. You can also email us and they can have a look into your refund for you once they know which order it is.

After a week I received an e-mail apologising for non-delivery of my ordered items. The reason given is that these were not in the warehouse and would take another week to get to the warehouse. After this time I was quoted next day delivery. For on-line shopping this is the worst experience I have had to date as all my other purchases from othe suppliers have been received the day after ordering. Not sure I would use this site again, will certianly look for other alternatives and do not mind paying a little extra for reliable delivery.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you are having trouble getting hold of us. Have you tried emailing us? We have a full time customer service team working Monday - Friday from 9am until 5pm who can answer any queries you may have. We have a payments line that is open between 10am and 4pm.
